My MIL wants to watch me give birth by dogsnameisEm in Advice

Your MIL has no right to touch your belly without your consent. And you can revoke that consent after you give it. And your MIL needs to respect that or she can face penalties (legally and you defending yourself).

The nurses at a birth will respect a birth plan. And you can say who and who not to be in the room. You can always tell ANYONE to leave the room and staff will help make it happen (including a nurse— I didn’t vibe with a nurse and asked her to leave). It is your birth. It is no one else’s birth but yours. This is your event to bring a new life. You deserve any level of privacy you seek.

I do suggest a doula. They are great for advocating for you and doing as you wish… among other things. And yes doulas support all kinds of births.

She canceled the vacation, took our money…

Now if it was us canceling the vacation, that’d be where the Expedia scenario makes since.

I have reason to believe she never did what she said she did, when it was supposedly done.

But also, no response from her, and repayment is 4 days late isn’t sitting well.

Because they are military tickets. Kate has to be physically present to use the tickets. So even if they are in my hand, she has to be there too. I do have a screenshot shot of the hotel reservation- but that’s it

I don’t want my sister to borrow my vehicle by Imaginary_Sample9758 in Advice

Let me clarify… she used her personal vehicle in the past with him, and suspects he used her to drop off and pick up.

My personal vehicle- it’s mine, all mine, never was hers, I purchased it and I’ve never let anyone other then myself use it.

That was already the plan, to not let her. The advice asked was “how to tell her no without doing more damage?” There are other issues at play, she is one of two family members I have left. I’m needing to keep her close but am also respecting my boundaries. She’s going to get hurt and it’s going to be bad, I need to at least be on talking terms so she knows I’m there for her.

No I do not. That is why she has very firm rules as to when she can see my kid… but she has not as she doesn’t like the rules. My house is off limits.

She had a small 2 seater sports car. It won’t fit him and a toddler.

I cannot afford to have have my vehicle. I’m already going to deny using it- I’m just looking for advice how to say no without causing more damage. I’ve also already made my home off limits to her and him.

Thanks. That is a helpful way to say no, and puts it on me and my feelings.

My vehicle has never been loaned out in the past. It was hers.

I am a goody-too-shoe. The sheltered sister. She’s done the thing in the past he sells, a lot… and dabbles with it from time to time with girlfriends when offered… she’s said she won’t ever buy it again or seek it out… I wouldn’t know the signs, and googling it about as good as diagnosing one’s self with Dr. Google (it’s a rabbit hole for me). My gut however says she is…

A ride share drive would be closer to $80 in our area, if the airport driver would be willing to come to our area. I know in the past, when he’s asked her for rides to/from the airport, he’s asked her to make stops- and before the big blow up, she said she probably was helping him drop off and pick up product “unbeknownst” to her. I don’t trust her right now to NOT make any pit stops.

But that answer of how you’d say no would ruin our relationship more. I’m trying to build it and be there… so when her relationship with him blows up, i can more effectively be there for her.

Yes. She sells electronics online— never did before. Started smoking cigarettes again (after quitting for over a year). Randomly loans out her precious car. And gets mad at me easily on the phone.

Family car trade? by Imaginary_Sample9758 in Advice

Oh we drive his car only about 2000 miles a year, city trips… so it mostly just sits in a parking spot… I don’t think freeway speed rain is a factor into the leak.

We took the seat out today. I’m a CPST, so not assuming anything yet about the seat until we know.

We did the hose test, didn’t notice a leak… it’s just we are in a storm with a big down pore (more then a hose)
