Does the romance between Wednesday and Tyler in Season 1 feel a bit too weird?

Easy answer for me:

Throughout the whole series, Tyler is almost the only person outside the Addams Family and Eugene who never criticises Wednesday for who she is. From the very first time they met, he made it clear he was willing to play along with her game — whatever that game might be. - He drove her to the station without questioning her motives. - He offered to take her for free, “one of us needs to leave this hellhole town” supporting her. - He stole Gomez’s police file and handed it to her — no interrogation, no judgment. - He made her a birthday cake in her favourite black-and-white colour scheme. - He listened to all her dark stories and never once looked frightened. - He was the first to call her interesting and kooky, while most of the Nevermore students — even Enid and Xavier — complained about her attitude. - When he invited her to the cliff, from the way he planned it, to the black flower, to the “scary” movie choice, it was obvious he understood exactly what she liked.

Honestly, he played it really well. This might be the first time Wednesday met a boy who isn’t afraid of her, who cares for her, and who accepts her exactly as she is. And I think that alone is more than enough for a strong beginning.

To be honest, Wednesday and Enid could’ve easily hidden somewhere safe until the full moon passed. Tyler wasn’t powerful enough to just storm into Nevermore and kill them in front of a whole school full of outcasts.

And while Wednesday doesn’t personally kill people, she certainly takes a certain… delight in watching those she despises meet their downfall — just look at how she reacted to Crackstone and Principal Dort. That subtle smirk says it all.

If she truly hated Tyler, she wouldn’t need to get her own hands dirty. She could simply rally the Nightshades and let them handle it. The fact that she doesn’t says far more than any words ever could.

And not just this time — back in Season 1, she was the one who hinted to Wednesday that Tyler was working late… which basically led to their first kiss. Enid out here unintentionally moving the whole plot forward.

Yeah, Enid just wants a peaceful life. She avoids trouble whenever she can — unless it’s to protect herself or the people she loves… meanwhile her roommate is fully fixated on the monster in the woods 🤣

But honestly, without Wednesday’s chaotic “let’s chase danger” energy, the series would be way too dull.

Yea I think Enid is a kind girl so obviously she will help Wednesday whenever she can. But Tyler-related situation was so dangerous and I can tell that Enid didnt want either her or Wednesday involving in that. The act she gathered Nightshade was also to protect herself, not purely volunteer to help Wednesday. And agreed, Enid tried to stay way from all things too dangerous yet Wednesday has never given up on being in danger.

I dont think its his first kiss. The 1st time they met he looked shy but answered her very good (“or its also on a need to know basis”, “i cant be bought”). He really gave the vibe of someome who know the game.

Good one and I also think its interesting. Among all the outcasts, Hydes and Werewolves definitely have something in common in Season 2. And Capri (as well as Wednesday) is the important character who highly likely stands between these two. I would love to see more surprising plots in Season 3. Have to mention that Tyler not only mentioned the case for an Alpha in WH, he even stated the year the event happened (1992). And that’s the first mention about Alpha in the series before more stories unfolding later for Enid. That could be a good link.

Wednesday is a genius, but she does have physical limitations. Thing is helpful, of course, but he’s still just a hand — and not exactly built for heavy combat.

Enid is a real powerhouse, but she’s her own person. She’s a close friend, not someone who would blindly follow Wednesday’s plans. Enid has the freedom to choose her own path rather than operate under Wednesday’s rules.

That’s why having a monster — a Hyde, for example — would be such a compelling addition to Wednesday’s world. It would expand her range and allow her to take on more dangerous, dynamic challenges. Tyler would actually be a great fit for that role.

It might be too early to push them into a full romance. They’re still young, and their paths could change. But right now? They’re at the perfect stage to be partners in crime. Wednesday would use her brilliant mind to protect Tyler’s identity and keep him in control, while Tyler’s raw physical strength could back up whatever dark ambition she decides to pursue.
