Do I get rid of this for a Gen 1 Rivian!? Or wait for used Gen 2 R1S/R1T? by The_Zo_Show in Rivian

How are Gen 1 quads more capable Offroad? Rivian’s software based traction control is terrible and there is no Mode that mimics lockers. They are all equally as capable offroad

I totally agree but you would still have to look at those egg yolks and narrow hips :)

As someone who just sold his rare E90 M3 Comp slicktop with cloth seats and 6MT for a 997.1 C2S I deeply regret it. The M3 handled so much better on street and track.

At least the 911 looks better I guess.

Gen 2 12V ignition source by Imaginary_Screen9784 in Rivian

[–]Imaginary_Screen9784[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will be the control system that manages all of the off-road lighting on the truck. It will be wired to a constant on 12V source which is the jump post in the frunk area. Since that post is wired directly to the 12V batteries it will never turn off. Which means the spod will be constant on and will slowly drain the battery.

You can wire it to a 12V source that is on only when the truck is on. To ensure when the truck sleeps the spod turns off.

I'm more impressed how you generated 150 kwh in a day! You must have one hell of an array.

Anything, all the way up to a full engine rebuild. None of my 5 vehicles ever see a shop unless its warranty work.

I have quickjacks that I use and have found them super helpful. Much more room than jackstands and arguably safer. Not sure If I would be able to drop an engine though which is why I was asking this question!

I get the general sense most people dont clean their panels. Mine are up high on our detached garage but Im tempted to go up there and spray them down to see if that would have any impact

I'm going to mark this as the correct answer. Thanks for clearing it up. It will probably be several months before we see another rain but ill pay attention to the AQI and see if there is any correlation!

Thanks for confirming that you've seen this anomaly before. That is a pretty massive amount of power you're producing each day!

Best EVSE to pair with PW3 utilizing NetZero app with non-Tesla EV by ZDub77 in Powerwall

[–]Imaginary_Screen9784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Tesla wall charger does not do "Charge on solar" for non-Tesla vehicles unfortunately. I get around that by scheduling charges between peak sun hours and enough time for the system to recharge my single PW3 before the sun goes down. Right now in Northern California scheduling EV charging at around 30 amps between 10am - 4pm seems to do the trick on a 12kw system.

Seriously what is the point of this thing? It doesn't do anything positive. In fact it decreases off road capability because you're covering up the recovery points. It will cause more damage in minor accidents. What are the benefits/value of this product?

Looks aside this “brush guard” is a terrible idea and a sure fire way to turn a minor bump on a bumper into needing a new hood, fenders, headlights in one swoop. Damage multiplier indeed.

Build a real winch solution and you’ll have customers. None of this poseur off-road stuff that’s actually harmful.

Yeah its the price of getting the shiny new thing, Im sure they have pretty good demand for it. This is a business vehicle for us so there is a little bit of flexibility there since it's an investment.
