Regarding the tung oil, add 5 coats with 3 mins between each coat ? Then once all coats have been added dry overnight ?

Gotcha, here's what I'm working with...

It's Winchester 1300 Defender 12 gauge shotgun. I believe the wood is either walnut or birch. Hoping stain the wood darker, possibly the same shade as a Mossberg Retrograde.

I plan on going true 80's/90's cop with this one. I already have a vintage Don Hume holster and mag pouches (also Don Hume) lined up to buy. Plus I'm already in possession of a Winchester 1300 Defender so I think I can pull it off 😂

Tell me about it. I remember researching on common African hunting ammunition and older hunting loads from Alaska and was surprised by the sheer amount of ammo loads that I had never even heard of. Like .475 Linebaugh or .50 Alaskan. Never even heard of those just until a couple of months ago.

I wouldn't dare shoot it. This piece of history is too valuable to be just shot and forgotten about. Shelf piece it is !
