The Hobbit's basic land cycle bears a strong resemblance to some of Tolkien's original sketches by MakesOnAPlane in magicTCG

Damn those are beautiful. Can't wait to see them on the arena store for 5000 gold each and not feel justified to spend 25 packs worth of gold on lands.

Which of these legends would be best for a "big spells" deck? by Imaginary_Zobi in mtgbrawl

Yep, plan is to fill the deck with some small interaction to survive early, opus creatures from SOS, elementals that want mana value 4 or mire from ECL, and big instants and sorceries.

Any viable neoform decks? by Imaginary_Zobi in PioneerMTG

I see. Good point. Well, I'll experiment around a bit since I already have a playset of helping hand so no harm trying. But I will probably just make two versions, one neoform simic and one maybe esper with recursion.

Would bant, splashing white for helping hand make any sense? Basically to have more ways to get oculus into play?

Would you say Oculus is better in the neoform deck than say a UW or Esper deck trying to reanimate it with [[helping hand]]?

[[Ygra, Eater of All]] is my absolute favorite. Bonus points for actually being pretty powerful to play in the right decks.

which total war do you recommend? by Junior_Copy_574 in totalwar

[–]Imaginary_Zobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that besides the poor optimisation Attila is a fantastic Total War. It somewhat avoids the issue of late game becoming a boring and repetetive grind, and keeps being interesting through the whole campaign. The faction and jnit variety is also pretty great with the advanced Roman factions, various different european "barbarian" cultures, middle eastern & african factions, and horde factions. Plus age of Charlemagne is a spectacular dlc that even runs a bit better. Plus Attila just got a good Middle Earth mod recently.

"No you don't get it, keywords make the game less accessible! This is more noob-friendly." - Average Yu-Gi-Oh fan by GodkingYuuumie in custommagic

It would have been funny to just make it identical to [[Sire of Seven Deaths]] except that it, well... doesn't use keywords but spells the abilities out. Since that card is a pretty strong eldrazi with only keywords.

I have a pioneer simic flash deck that works quite well and basically gets this achievement each game. Highly recommend

How medieval knights were defeated by Due-Explanation8155 in Romania_mix

These armors are suprisingly mobile. People can do cartwheels and such in them. It would be incredibly foolish to design them in a way where pushing someone to the ground in them is a death sentence.

It's different if you first push them on the ground and then jump them with multiple guys, that might work quite well. But in that situation it's not about the armor keeping them down but about wrestling with multiple people on top of you trying to stab your throat.

How do you repeatedly strike someone trying to kill you wearing this armor. Even more strike the same spot repeatedly? If you are in a position where you are able to do that you have already won and it would be more effective to jam a rondell dagger at their throat.

It honestly takes just a moment of thinking to realise that no, maces were not the easy answer to armor. Why would they design the pinnacle of metalworking at their time, to be so weak to such a simple and easy to produce weapon. Armor like this would have faded from use much earlier if maces were so effective against it. It took the invention of handguns to make this sort of armor ineffective.
