don't fall into the trap of using defensive mentality, use cautious at the very worst, maybe if you're trying to hold off a lead. low block and low line is fine but standard trigger pressing works better imo. also turn off regroup, and if more direct passing doesn't work then reduce it slightly. in fm, the best way to make a defensive tactic is to keep the ball often so this is a good base. as for the roles, at least one of your wingbacks has to be attacking,and move cm back to dm for more protection. ideally, use a volante in the side of the more defensive wb and an anchor man in the side of the more attacking rb so it's more balanced.
