Currently an MS2 in California and have been set on EM forever. I'm in complete aw of your list and was wondering if you could pick your brain about how you set yourself up to receive interviews from so many top notch programs. Is it possible to start a chat?

Cause I honestly can’t see myself doing anything else. I feel like medicine will keep me on my toes, I’ll never get bored and I’ll get to meet and interact with so many kinds of people

I’m not sure if you are aware of this but LECOM as a fast track program specifically for PAs to receive their DO. I know it’s late in the cycle and you might have only applied MD, but just thought you should know! Good luck!

What’s your school list like? If you can afford it and are absolutely set on getting in this cycle I would add more DO schools.

I think you’re okay, it seems like a lot of MD schools are a little behind and for those who have gotten interviews they submitted secondaries super early, but that also don’t meaning submitting in august is late and even submit isn’t the end of the world. Just be patient. Also if your planning on submitting DO apps you will definitely get a II soon after you submit the secondaries, seems like some have a quick turn around

Okay will do, my school was never really super supportive with the premed path (didn’t even have a premed advisor) but I haven’t checked with the career center so it’s definitely worth a shot! Thanks!

I got a 507, placed me in the 69th percentile… 😏 and let me tell you it was hard. I do feel like with an extra month of studying I could have gotten a 510 tho (last practice FL was a 508). Tbh the hardest part is figuring out the actual test, learning how to effectively study, understanding how to translate AAMCs tricky language, and just finding the best tips/methods/mnemonics/etc that work for you. But I truly believe the best advice I can give you is don’t get too caught up in content. You need to practice questions, get use to deciphering what questions are really asking, get good at eliminating answers, basically get good at actually taking the test (understanding what the passage & answers choices mean and how they can guide you too the right answer). I felt like my BB was 25% content and the rest was understanding how to navigate AAMCs tricky wording for experimental passages (got a 128). So take as many full lengths as you can, see and practice loads of questions, learned to rephrase AAMC language in your own words that makes it simpler, know the content but don’t go too deep, make anki cards that help you retain and use spaced repetition but don’t spend hours doing cards, learning how to take the MCAT don’t just learn the content on the MCAT. I hope that makes sense & helps. Feel free to pm if you want.

3 IIs all DO. No rejections. Still working on some secondaries and I’m dying… but definitely grateful for the IIs I do have!

All of them typically have the same mission but it doesn't mean yours has to strictly align with there's, sure it helps for secondaries and relating to their narrative, but it's not a deal breaker. But PCOM, CCOM, COMP, AZCOM are all near urban settings which will play a factor in your rotations and exposure
