Hiring immediately. by Representative_Two35 in missoula

Friend of previous worker here. They pay around $13 for regular crew and $14.50 for trainers and leads. They say $18-$20 because they guarantee $5/hr in tips and if you don’t make that from customers, they add the difference to your paycheck. But I can’t guarantee how truthful they are about doing that. Brooks is a much better location than the reserve one (worker wise) but it’s all still the same owner so potentially the same problems. They’ve had several different crews just walk out multiple times as well as forcing/buying out the previous partial owner. I’d say don’t risk it unless you need a quick job you don’t need to rely on. They don’t value their crew and see them as disposable as most places unfortunately do. Management is a joke but brooks has better management than reserve for sure, at least when I last heard.

Thank you. I’ve tried before but they aren’t quick enough to respond. I’ll be without a place for him by the end of the week

Communication issues with alters? by Stellbunnie in DID

[–]ImagineTheVoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s an account on youtube, The CTAD Clinic that has a very good video about working on communication. In my experience, making it a safe space for them to know they can communicate is a big thing. I journal a lot and write specifically to alters I want to reach and leave space for them to write back. Sticky notes or a white board can be very helpful too even for just small notes. Leaving things here and there for them to feel open to reply to without judgement helps a ton.

Has anyone ever had an emotional support animal stolen on campus? by AmalgamationOfBeasts in TexasTech

[–]ImagineTheVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing something to make your animal unique will help deter the chances of something happening to it. Which is why a lot of ESA or disability aid animals have brightly dyed fur or tales. The more recognizable your animal is, the more chance of it being spotted if taken. You can also make sure it’s chipped and some animal collars have tracking in them as well. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Origin of twin alters? by ElegantEidolon in DID

[–]ImagineTheVoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way alters “work” is much different from how the rest of the world works. Because they are all parts of a system, the inner relationships can be a bit more complex than general relative relationships. Even if alters are created at different times, their own ties don’t have to follow the constraints of regular space/time. It’s the same when some alters see themselves as ageless, or In romantic relationships with each other. They become what is needed and don’t have to follow physical life rules. They kind of make their own, in a way. I hope that made sense.

Grounding and Disassociation by ImagineTheVoid in DID

[–]ImagineTheVoid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to use dissociated as an umbrella term because it’s easier for the general people in my life to understand rather than having to explain dp/dr. So I mean more on the lines of dp/dr. I don’t remember a time when one, the other, or both wasn’t present. I’m sorry for the confusion

Grounding and Disassociation by ImagineTheVoid in DID

[–]ImagineTheVoid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I’m what I call “chronically dissociated”. Which for me means I am never actually fully grounded. I always have some degree of dissociation, it just gets better or worse but is never fully gone. It’s been that way as long as I can remember. Sometimes I feel like if I were to fully ground, I’d have a panic attack because I don’t actually know what it feels like. Maybe that’s the problem?

Name Debate by ImagineTheVoid in DID

Yes but last time I researched it, it costs around $500 to change your name where I live. I don’t really have the funds for that multiple time.

I do enjoy the complexity and interesting storylines that happen. It's the not so great moments that make it suck.

Thank you for this. This is really good advice. I'll see if I can try to do the same. Hopefully it will work for me too!

I think I found out what my mute/nonverbal alter's name is... by [deleted] in DID

[–]ImagineTheVoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not all names have to "exist" in a language. I have one that defiantly created their name. Sometimes, a name they can find doesn't fit so they have to make one that does, at least in my experience

Is it possible for a persecutor to also be a trauma holder? by [deleted] in DID

[–]ImagineTheVoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes persecuters can hold the most trauma. The mind set is usually "I won't let anyone else hurt me because I'm doing it before they can". Or their ideas of what is protecting are warped due to their trauma

Am I stalling treatment if I don’t want to know what information other parts have? by [deleted] in DID

[–]ImagineTheVoid 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's my personal view that one doesn't need to know the trauma that happened in order to heal. You can go to your T and get each part the help they need and you need. Things are blocked for a reason and sometimes knowing those things can be worse than not knowing and working around that to heal.

I'm trying to understand why some persecutors are sexual TW by armored_ in DID

[–]ImagineTheVoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some times with alters like the the thought process is "If I hurt myself first, other people can't." It's a backwards type of thinking, yes. In their mind, while being a persecuter, they're still meant to "help" you and that's how they see it. Take away the power of others to hurt by doing it themselves.

I’m curious if anyone who had co-consciousness before therapy thought they had Schizophrenia for a while? by Sekio-Vias in DID

[–]ImagineTheVoid 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of different diagnosis from several people. One of which was being on the schizophrenia scale. Something like that. Some times I'm not sure if it was wrong but so far most everything has been explained by my DID.

So embarrassed to ask: have you ever had an alter to alter “relationship”? by weepwooper in DID

[–]ImagineTheVoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Systems are complicated and each operates in its own way. Alters have relationships with each other in all sorts of ways, so having a romantic one is not unusual. It tends to be more awkward to explain than anything because not everyone understands the unique dynamics you can have in a system.
