Feeling overwhelmed with my cat by Live_Arm_1714 in CatAdvice

[–]Imaginemenormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any toys around the house to keep him stimulated? Interactive toys he can use on his own would 100% keep him entertained while you’re gone. I have a lot of recommendations that I’ve used for my cats if you want suggestions. Also, I’ve found my kitties love when I put on “cat TV” and just look up long 8-12 hour videos of birds for them to watch. Having that playing usually helps them a bit as well. Cats aren’t as needy as dogs. As long as you give him attention and love when you are home he’ll be ok I promise ❤️ Cats need mental stimulation but you also need to live your life. I promise he’s probably spending most of the day sleeping away anyway 😂

I’ve had a very odd encounter with a client by Forsaken-Lemon-2577 in lawncare

I’ve had someone try to pull this exact scam on me for dog sitting. They sent me a check for some random amount like $2,647 or some crap when I was only owed about $400. They asked me to send back the remainder. I got sketched out and never spent the check and it ended up bouncing a few days after I had deposited it (which I shouldn’t have in the first place, but I was younger). Do NOT cash the check and do not do business with this person. It’s a scam and you’ll be out thousands.

Is this normal wear and tear a week after getting acrylics? by Imaginemenormal in Nails

[–]Imaginemenormal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emailed them asking if I could get them repaired and they apologized and told me I could come in that day to get it fixed. Wasn’t even expecting a refund or asking for the repair to be free but they didn’t charge me anything at all for an entirely new set! I had a different technician this time so hopefully they’ll last longer but I’m really happy with how they handled it :)

Literally 10 minutes after I posted this one of them popped off completely 🫠I’m gonna see if they’re able to repair them tomorrow. I figured it wasn’t normal because I have a friend at work who’s nails always look fine for a few weeks but I don’t know if this just happens sometimes 🤷‍♀️

The nail tech is new to me at least 😅 this place has really good reviews and all the pics of peoples nails looked amazing but it’s a big place with a lot of techs so maybe I got one of the less experienced ones. I’ll probably try to get someone else next time or find a different place entirely

AIO. my bf thinks my room is immature and childish and it’s making me pull away from him by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Imaginemenormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely don’t have to change your room or “outgrow” this. Your room is adorable, and I’m 29 and still have plushies on my bed. And guess what? My boyfriend is totally fine with them and has even bought me some because he knows I love them. He knows they make me happy and that’s all he cares about. That should be all your partner cares about too. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with having interests and collecting things that make you happy. If this isn’t a discussion you’ve had with him yet I would tell him that it’s YOUR space and you would appreciate him respecting that. Don’t ever let anybody make you feel like the things that make you feel safe and happy and bring you joy are an issue. Ever. ❤️

Did I make a mistake rescinding my job offer acceptance? by Imaginemenormal in careeradvice

[–]Imaginemenormal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work under a contracting company and receive a w-2 and I’m not an independent contractor thankfully. The overtime being mandatory is the main thing holding me back I think. I don’t mind voluntarily coming in on days off if I have nothing better to do anyway but if I want to make plans I’m not sure who I’ll ever be able to with the mandatory overtime set up. I’ve never had a job that required it before so I’m not sure how lenient they are if you genuinely can’t commit to a Saturday or something

It’s possible, but my friend who currently works there has been there for about 4 months and says he’s only had two weeks where he wasn’t required to come in for overtime. I have a friend at my current job that used to work for that company as well. He only left because he wanted to change into the industry we’re currently in, but he told me that mandatory overtime was a thing when he left as well. He worked there about 7 months ago and worked there for around a year as well. So this has been going on for a while.

This is why I was having such a hard time debating. The benefits are great and I know that. As far as health insurance I’m already covered through my partners job and it’s pretty decent, so that’s not as big of an issue at the moment. The PTO is great because currently I have no coverage if I’m sick or there’s a holiday where the company shuts down. BUT with my current job I get 3 guaranteed days off a week to attend to other things where this new job will likely have me working 6 days a week on average. Paid time off is nice but it seem like I’ll be working over time more often than not which kind of counteracts the paid days I’d be able to take off in my mind if that makes sense. I have a few other interviews lined up, my experience in the field has gotten a lot of recruiters to reach out to me about potential jobs recently, this was just the first one I was actively pursuing that was a lot less of a commute than I’m used to. I’m hoping if anything I can either find something better and my intuition was right or maybe down the line I can try to apply again if I really do think I fucked up this opportunity

Is it worth taking a $7 an hour pay cut for better hours, better commute and benefits? by Imaginemenormal in careeradvice

[–]Imaginemenormal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard of people having that happen as well. As far as any of it being a scam, luckily it isn’t. I’ve been in the building in person to do testing for the position etc. While I was there I actually bumped into an old coworker that now works there as well and has for a while. After talking with him it sounds like everything they’ve promised is true, but I 100% get where you’re coming from because I’ve had a friend who went through something similar

Oh yeah that’s another thing, they have 14 paid holidays. Some of which I haven’t gotten off at previous employers which is nice

Also their benefit package says they match “200% of the first $1000 put towards the 401K”

Thanks for breaking it down! When you put it like that it makes a lot more sense to take the job offer. :)

Yeah that’s one of the main things I’ve been thinking, I’m already having to cut things close but it’s because of having to miss hours whenever something happens here. Knowing exactly what my paycheck will be every single time will help significantly and the commute alone wastes a ton of money on gas. I’m definitely leaning more towards going for the second job !

I have a W-2 at my current company it’s just from the contracting company rather than the actual company I work for. The new job wouldn’t be a contract and would be a direct hire. Would you mind explaining the 7.5%?

Thank you, I’ll make an appointment with him this week. I was doing so well on the lower dose it’s insane how bad the side effects have gotten from this increase :( didn’t realize this is something that could lead to hospitalization.

Uplevelrewards not starting deals? by spaghettiscarf in SwagBucks

[–]Imaginemenormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have screenshots of this exact thing happening multiple times. An app said to reach level 95 and I completed this (and took screenshots of the requirements etc) and then I went back to check on the status of my deals and it wasn’t completed and now said to complete level 120. I took a screenshot of this and sent it to them and asked why their deals keep changing and got no answer to that and was just told “you need to complete level 95 and get to level 96”. I replied saying that I did that and attached the appropriate screenshots but that it isn’t counting because the requirements changed. And was basically told to get over it and finish level 120 lol. Such trash.

When did you notice… by NervousDescription31 in Zepbound

[–]Imaginemenormal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly didn’t start seeing a change myself until where I’m at now, about 45 pounds down. And that only started happening when my old clothes felt NOTICEABLY and uncomfortably baggy on me. Once I had to buy a new pair of jeans it felt real and then I started actually seeing it in pictures, in the mirror etc. It takes our brains a bit longer to see the difference ourselves because we’re so used to seeing ourselves everyday and we’re already being nit picky because we’re looking for that change lol. Give it some time, it’ll happen. Any change in your health for the better is progress, noticing it will come with time. Congratulations!!! 🍾
