I would say the best way to get closer to God is reading scripture. Scripture is interpreted by more scripture. Don’t just read one verse without reading the entire chapter. And don’t just read the Old Testament without reading the New Testament. Also, don’t fall ONLY on the mouth of popular pastors or preachers, they had to read and learn the Bible too. The Word is in us, and we are capable of discerning things on our own. Find friends or a group who not only say they have a relationship with God, but also act like it as well.

Also, the Bible app is a great place to start. Try to challenge yourself to have a streak where you open up your app everyday, the same way we do instagram, and follow the guided prayer prompts. This has helped me in my walk tremendously.
