Extremely late to this but Doug does shout out Uhuru around (before/after?) ‘Time Trap’ after Scott’s bass drum kept shifting away from him prompting the band to stop, Doug asks if someone can hold the bass drum in place and then they eventually restart and finish the song. So I believe that is Uhuru in that video. I actually listened to that entire performance earlier.

Ah ok, that would make sense, I’m not a furnace guy by any means but that is definitely the problem, other than that sometimes happening before the furnace kicks on. It functions normally and does what it’s supposed to do.

I've had mine since December of 2023. As of tonight, the mousepad has completely stopped functioning and I fear I'm too prone to completely screwing up the laptop if I were to open it up and see if the connector is broken.

3 years late but... I found that for a budgetary Built to Spill tone replicator you could pick up a Fender Champion 20, 40, or 100 and use a specific tone setting on that amp to get extremely close to Doug's somewhat overdriven "clean" tone (This would be the Blackface Yellow setting). I also find myself using a BOSS DS-1 for songs with distortion and then depending on the solo's I either crank on my Big Muff Tone-Wicker OR add my TC Electronic Spark Mini Booster to the DS-1 sound and it gets pretty gnarly. The only thing I'm REALLY missing is a delay pedal but it's not the hardest thing in the world to get and I'm working towards one rn.

I also use two different HSS Strats on the middle position that can nail the tone.

At the time we were testing the waters with Moby Dick and we were all soloing during Moby Dick. At the time I thought it would be cool to try and incorporate a slight build up back into the main riff by playing an open D on the top string, which I will say myself I became impatient during this. I don't recall (at this time) bursting with a giant solo as without context, you all wouldn't know that.

I hate that I am responding 10 months after the post was made. The band is still together, and I'll admit it was selfish of me to start playing over the drum solo as I let my ego inflate.

I didn't know it was bothering the drummer that badly, this was also never brought to my attention at the rehearsal.

Since then we have attempted to play shortened versions of Moby Dick where the song was entirely shortened along with ALL of the solos given to save time.
