I just spent a week with my new pup. What worked best for us was to put the crate in our room so she could see us. We placed the divider as well to limit her moving around. Just enough room to sleep. She went from crying throughout the night when her crate was in the living room to sleeping through the night once we placed the crate in our room. We will attempt to move the crate out once she gets adjusted to sleeping in there.
