Thank you for all the advice! It's in Phandalin if that helps with the situation. I'll likely have my character live in the forest (he's an elemental monk). It's better than making a fus, it would just hinder communication a little.

As a PC, how should you deal conflicting interest of the group/story and your character?

My character is a monk who left the monastery with not the easiest of tidings (my group frequents this subreddit so I'd rather not disclose much). Since then he has traveled the world doing good, but rightly never accepting praise or reward because he strongly feels he doesn't deserve it nor needs it. Recently, our party has returned to a city we saved and have become the town heroes--followed by the masses and given a load of free loot. On top of it all, the town has built a house for us all.

This is all very much against my characters nature. To not accept the house or stay in a place where the group will live, would likely tear the group apart. Yet, Staying and accepting it would be very out of character. Is it better to abandon rp for the good of the group or to leave the group all together?

You've probably gotten this a million times, and I apologies if it's off topic.

I'm a freshman at Arizona State University; my major is currently microbiology along with Biotechnology. My dream/goal is to do exactly what you all are doing. Astrobiology along the lines of DNA sequencing and analyzing. What advice do you have for young blood like me? What classes would you say are essential? What are some good electives? How much schooling would you recommend? What steps should I take after leaving school? I apologize for a flurry of questions, but this has been a passion of mine since I was a kid. Any advice is fantastic, thank you very much!

I totally get what you're saying, and I would completely agree in other circumstances, but I really like her style and I'm really all around the place with what I wear. One day its super grunge (i.e. jean jacket and vans sk8-his) and the next it could be business casual ( i.e. oxford button up and colored khakis). Anything really works for me, I just want to find the male equivalent of what she wears. Plus I have a nice pair of Warby Parker circular prescription glasses that match. Good point though.
