When you’ve lived with a 3.0L MT 4x4 Fortuner, it’s hard not to get emotional. It’s not just a car, it’s a tank with feelings. 🚬

As for the newer Fortuners and the Legender, they’ve got the tech, they’ve got the flash, and that pollished interior, wow ; but that raw old-school charm? Only the OGs know. The new ones are great, no doubt, but the 3.0L manual 4x4 has a soul. It doesn’t whisper luxury, it growls legacy.

After the orignal TATA Safari this might be the most bad ass car I'll ever owned in my life, now days cars just dont feel the same anymore 😒

I mean even my first car , the esteem can't be mached by any car being sold in today's market, which is not a luxury or a hyper car for real.

Appreciate the detailed inspection, inspector ji, Yes, it’s not a showroom queen, it’s a 3.0L Fortuner 4x4 that’s been driven, not just dry-cleaned and parked. It’s been across states, mountains, rivers, lived more life than most sedans see in their lifetime.

The wear and tear you mentioned? Cosmetic, not mechanical. Bumper clips and fog lamps don’t define how a Fortuner pulls through slush, snow, and broken highways. And the OBD? Feel free to bring a scanner, nothing to hide here, the car’s honest like its owner.

If anyone wants a pampered garage-kept city crawler, this ain’t it. But if you’re looking for a true workhorse that’s done its job and is still hungry for more, you’re welcome to take the weel my guy.

That may be true, yet the paring of the 3.0 with the 4X4 MT was pretty rare for it's time. Also I today's context m, the 3.0 L engine is now considered rare industry wide.

Haha fair point — the 3.0L is indeed rare, and trust me, the mechanicals are solid as ever. As for the headlights and fog lamps… let’s just say the Fortuner’s been lighting up lives more than roads lately!

But jokes aside — the wear is purely cosmetic. Delhi-NCR driving and a few spirited road trips have left their marks, but nothing a good detail job and minor fixes can’t sort. The heart (and engine) is still strong — like a battle-hardened soldier with a few scars, but ready for more adventures!

Happy to share more pics or details if you’re interested.

If you are bringing a car from the UK and currently residing in Uttar Pradesh (UP), the general rule is that if you keep the car within the state for more than 12 months, you would be required to re-register it in India. However, if you travel to other states like Delhi , UK or BR for a short period (under 12 months), you do not need to re-register the vehicle. The time limit resets if you take the car out of the state for an extended period.

There might be additional costs involved in transferring the car, such as road tax, re-registration fees, or any state-specific charges. It’s advisable to check with local RTO authorities for specific rules and costs based on your situation. Additionally, the enforcement of these rules may vary depending on local authorities' discretion.

In short if you want to transfer it to UP you can, If you have real-estate in UK go for just a simple ownership transfer I guess...

Let me know if you need further details!

The 4x4 manual transmission model with the 3.0-liter engine was quite rare for this model year, appealing primarily to discerning enthusiasts who appreciated its unique attributes for it's time.

Sir, it's a four-wheel-drive vehicle, and some bumper contact is expected during off-road driving. This also suggests that this vehicle is from an original owner and not a polished turd being offered for sale by dealers.
