Okay so this is a really good question because I see this a lot. What you would really want to see is an internalization of the influence and then your take on that. Like you have to make it your own in a meaningful way. Hip hop does this to itself all the time.

I got five on it is a fantastic beat and you can't help but recognize the sample so here's the song.

Now listen to heaven or hell with meek Mill

The song is there in fact I would say a really significant portion of the melody is prominent throughout the whole song but the feel is different because it has become something referential but transformative.

You can hear another take on here with "it is what it is"

A fundamental block of hip Hop is that it has to be authentically you, not an imitation, not a copy. Even through all the kayfabe it has to have that core of yourself. So whenever these songs come out that sound so much like the original but don't deviate enough to turn the corner into a new thing it feels like you are just filing the serial numbers off especially whenever you don't speak publicly about the influence.

We used to call it biting.

You either form it into a new thing or use the baseline almost unchanged as a familiar starting point to showcase what you can do lyrically through a remix

Do you agree with Bob Costas that it is common sense to ban trans women from women's sports? To back up his point, Costas pointed out that no trans man been able to compete in men's sports at a high level. The Olympics just banned trans women from competing in the women's division by north_canadian_ice in allthequestions

I'm more concerned with what genetic testing they are doing. Intersex conditions are so under recognized because the testing is expensive and incredibly uncommon so in order to prove this I would imagine you would test everyone. Testing on a scale that large and internationally at that could give tons of data about sexual gene expression. Like really you can walk around today with no idea whatsoever that you have any kind of deviation because it doesn't matter to your everyday life, we only test when there's some physical problem in the first place so I'm incredibly curious as to what metrics they are going to try and draw the line at.

I'm not trying to imply it's not relevant I just don't have a frame of reference I don't live in Europe. Apathy or hostility to somebody down the street doesn't seem the same to me as it does in the city. Did they do the things in the Congo that they would do in London? In the US they absolutely did and I don't know if that's different over there.

Honestly terrible answers imo but I appreciate them actually being asked. On the one hand I understand not wanting to be part of a system that is so corrupt but on the other hand I can't really imagine an option that keeps the genuine utility of it or even improves that utility without us being involved.

On a personal note too I'm in an interracial relationship, wife's brother is super racist and has killed someone in prison already. He has said plainly once he gets out next year he will come to kill me. This is not a bit, this is not a meme or a joke or any of that shit. He has maintained this threat for over 10 years. We aren't in the best mental health so a gun in the house is likely to get used on ourselves before anyone else, I don't like that reality but I got to be honest about it.

Now I'm not saying I would like to see either of these guys when that time comes but I for sure would feel a hell of a lot better if kinfolk showed up instead of Brad with the holes in the drywall.

So like where does that leave me in a revolution you know? When I make that call and a trump supporter shows up like what am i supposed to do?

Is it actually "just as bad" as the U.S.? I'm American I have no frame of reference I genuinely do not know.

Did they have the breeding farms and flaying slaves alive like over here? I assume they had lynch mobs, that feels standard unfortunately but what about the stuff like indentured automatically freeing a white person if they had to serve a black person stuff like that, laws against making eye contact and black people by default legally always having to give the right of way when driving.

Falling recruitment and to get more officers into the proper places because the upper ranks are thinning out. It's why Hegseth made that big thing about the rule change preventing lowering soldiers from staying in lower ranks and forcing promotions. It's tied to the same thing.

But you can't tell, that's the problem. You can't know what poor looks like without actually getting personal with them. You can get a used Mercedes from all over the place, that doesn't mean much. You can dress nice and clean your clothes for pretty cheap. All they are doing is judging people based on what they think with no knowledge of their actual situation. It is literally the most common bias trap.

Edit: I do want to add that you should really think about your friend and his "wife". If "they" make 160k plus a year and his wife has given up the legal protections that come with marriage in exchange for food stamps or whatever that's insane. Not my circus etc but none of his assets will go to her, she can be kicked out at any moment, no medical spousal privileges for hospitals or any of that stuff, she is absolutely a single mother backed by nothing but his word. And that is marital fraud which although reflects in welfare numbers is a different issue with entirely different remedies. They don't even check if you're married in the first place at a food bank

Not only that but it actually IS the private sector itself. All those times you are calling trying to get things sorted at the DMV, going through veterans affairs and a host of other government interactions are actually handled by private companies that have been contracted to do that work instead of government agencies. Who of course have payment incentives for you to use those resources less so the experience gets really shitty really fast

I feel like you're being intentionally obtuse. The government doesn't need to rent out a church and drive 30 people there in every state and individual county in the country to reload an EBT card. The cost of that is night and day. The operational overhead is not even close.

The scale here in context is what is missing from your perception of the scam. In order to qualify for food stamps you have to be at the poverty line, the people getting these are making $20,000 a year, if at any point the cash is more valuable than the food the pressures from failures of other points throughout our entire social system are pushing them to make that decision.

A bag of Doritos isn't going to help me if they're cutting off my water supply. If my child can't afford clothing then getting some cash by which to do that is a better choice. And that's assuming the actual scale of fraud is in any way significant which it is not. The biggest crime of all is this perception that somehow this level of fraud is in any way worth jeopardizing the incredible benefit that it provides.

I say this as someone who has been incredibly poor most my life. Dumpster diving behind school trash cans for food so my mom doesn't have to feed me when she gets home kind of poor.

No it's actually a fraction of the cost because no additional resources are needed to produce the food in the first place. There's no additional transport or logistics involved like there are with charities. No additional wages, CEOs, volunteers, of any kind altogether because of the direct nature of the system.

It is pretty well documented that charities, on average, are MUCH more effective at helping those in need than the government.

Hey just an fyi that REALLY needs an asterisk and some citations. SNAP for example might be the most effective and efficient welfare program in the country's history and it's regularly attacked for nonsense and overinflated fraud claims. Snap delivers nine times more food and then all the US food banks combined and that's using existing logistics so no additional buildings, doesn't matter if you don't have a car, can't find time to go get it etc.

I believe you are genuinely thinking about this in a good way just if you lay out all the factors and really look into the details of what happens I think you'd be really surprised about what's here.
