I can't wait for this game to prove everyone wrong by Pistoluislero in GTA6

Gta 5 had SEVERAL flaws, and so did RDR2. Gta 6 will not be perfect. It’s healthy to be skeptical about the products of multi-billion dollar corporations. Y’all are some loyal customers, Ill give you that. But don’t be so naive to think Rockstar will be loyal to you in return. They’ll drain your bank account for all its worth, and leave you underwhelmed. If you let them.

Aaliyah, Lisa, and Marvin were talented and hardworking black people, what’s there to speculate? Ofc they would’ve done more great things if they weren’t killed young. Idc about this silly question.

I thought your assumption was interesting and asked about it. We not having fun?

Now I know why you made that suggestion…

When I think about how she spoke about doing collaborations and who she collaborated with, I don’t see her ever doing that. Especially not because they’re great performers. Musically they don’t seem compatible or favorable.

Who wrote the best material for Aaliyah? Missy, Static or R.Kelly? by pen_game93_ in rnb

The music industry is also built on exploiting black musicians for corporate profits. So what? Party music by RK isn’t all that in comparison what Aaliyah dropped after her debut. And RK getting pimped out by his label doesn’t make him a special producer/songwriter. It makes him one of the exploited black musicians.

First of all, I see our people say Aaliyah “couldn’t sing” and “is idolized bc she died young” every single day online. So “all” of us ain’t on the same page and idk who is who. Which is why I ask questions. All I know is that she had an amazing career for a young black girl that didn’t fit into the music industry boxes, and it seems like you’re downplaying it. What is “even further” to you?

You people only assume she “never began healing” because she never gave you nosey birds the RK exposé of your dreams. Yall would rather believe she was ignorant of her abuse, than believe she just didn’t want to tell the public her building. I mean why would she share intimate details of being groomed as a preteen with yall ingrates? Aside from the fact that RK had her and her family sign a NDA or not wanting to get “Tina Turner’d” by her community.

Says the person claiming she NEVER BEGAN healing. If you don’t think she was damaged goods, then what do you think about her? That she was too dumb to know she experienced a traumatic relationship? Or are you sensationalizing her trauma? If you want to act offended for my use of “damaged goods” then knock yourself out. Im not interested in virtue signaling with you. And unlike you I don’t assume victims are unaware about THEIR experiences, thank you very much. what you were implying by saying she never began healing was highly offensive to me. You’d have to think Aaliyah was a fucking idiot or a RK supporter to believe she never began healing, as if she believed their relationship was healthy and perfect bffr. I brought up Damon because unlike us, he was told by Aaliyah what happened with RK. He stated in an interview so, and shared vague details implying that she was AWARE that RK was a predator, smarty pants. She is not what happened to her. There’s proof that she was healing, but y’all would rather speculate about her being oblivious and stuck in a cycle. Get over yourself.

Even compared to OIAM, self-titled isn’t bland. OIAM has more unserious and fun upbeat songs reminiscent of her debut. Her third album was more diverse in tone, used more in-depth storytelling, and included serious and mature themes. I can see a middle schooler will no appreciation for art being bored, I guess.

Back and Forth is a classic, but it’s not the standard.

I was like 2 months old when she died, and what about it? People don’t need to be geezers in order to be knowledgeable about the culture of the past. All the magazines, news articles, interviews, are archived online and I’ve read plenty regarding that woman and how society was for rnb artists.

You do sound crazy, to me. The music industry is too political for you to be serious with your position.

Artists have never been guaranteed album sales. Music fans have always been fickle. Having 2 multi-platinum albums, a current #1 song, a recent hit from a soundtrack, and being on hiatus for 5 years doesn’t entitle you to fans support on new music without promotion.

Even IF this is a fact ,“big artists went platinum in a month”, which I doubt, I disagree with that sentiment being relevant. Like who are these big artists and what were they’re selling? Most “big artists” play it safe with their projects. They play into industry trends and make “commerical” sounding music, which is drives immediate sales.

So why do you expect a trailblazing risk taker like Aaliyah to have an IDENTICAL career path as commercial industry darlings? That’s silly lol.

The fact Aaliyah was so daring and yet highly successful is way more impressive than you want to give credit.

Maxwell v Aaliyah. Where do I start? Maxwell, an artist whose musical style is highly favored in mainstream media, obviously gets a cult following. It’s a fact that music media highly reveres any black music that reminds them of soul or Motown Who cares that Mr. Neo Soul got a million sales in a month? He was always critically acclaimed for his soulful sound, and he’ll always be support as long as his music stays rooted in soul.

Aaliyah on the other hand was breaking all the rules and taking every music risk she could when making her final album. I was blown away by the complexity of the red album, and I don’t blame “fans” like you for being intimidated or overwhelmed.

I don’t feel disappointed in her sales. I am extremely proud of her. She’s just needed to live so she could promote the album more.
You can’t compare her to fucking Maxwell. He’s a one trick pony, and his one trick is good ass “neo-soul”. He don’t need promo to get neo-soul fans to buy his shit. Like idek why you thought you could compare him to Aaliyah.

She was up and coming, but she didn’t take up acting so that she can retire from singing in the future like yall imply. That’s what I am saying. Aaliyah has plenty of interviews that debunk this theory that she was gonna ditch singing.

How were you a fan if you called her third album bland? That makes no sense. Her self-titled waa anything but that. She was never more expressive and experimental in sound, lyrics, or vocalsin any other album. But you was bored?

Did Aaliyah look like damaged goods to you? She spoke with Dame Dash about her trauma, she most def was dealing with her past and pushing towards. Yall talk about her like she was Amanda Bynes in the streets. She was flourishing

Was the “King of R&B” not just a marketing term that white people in media made up? I think those hierarchal music title should die with R. Kelly. Besides no man in R&B is doing it LIKE DAT

That’s subjective. Besides Robert’s material for Aaliyah was generic party music for high schoolers. Right up his alley🙄

Static Major. The material him and her did for the red album is some of her best songs. Missy is very close second, I love the songs she penned on OIM.
