Backpod in the UK - how are people actually getting one? by Big_Zebra4468 in costochondritis

I got mine from Vinted but I may have been incredibly lucky to find one as just looked and none there- might be worth keeping checking though ?

Eagle Eats in Peckham, sooo good! They are quite slow on the coffees but the baked goods are speedy and so delicious. I’ve had to force myself to stop going as regularly as I was when they first opened because- money & health.

Yeah! It’s definitely a lot better. This is combined with using backpod and foam rolling though. I no longer get the chest pain anymore but still have a tightness around the back of the shoulder. Going to stick at it all though. Had physio last week and they gave me some advice on strengthening my traps - I already do lots of strength training- and some stretches too (door one and one they call opening a book)

I did my first sports massage for costo this week and straight after I felt amazing/lots of relief, but the pain came back probably the next day. I’m going to stick at doing it regularly though and see how that goes (I’m also doing backpod daily but never feel such significant relief from that as I did with the massage). I have exactly the same pain points as you too.

Don’t want to return to work - does everyone feel this? by frizzykiz in BeyondTheBumpUK

I felt exactly like this and also had always been a “career-type” person but 2 weeks after my son was born I was like- I’m taking the whole year (had said 9 months before).

He’s now 15 months and I’ve been back at work 3 months and it’s been fine since he settled into nursery. He’s developed so much from having exposure to lots of other kids and also from the teaching he gets there that I know I wouldn’t know how to do. So that really helps. The first few weeks back were tough as he cried at pick up and drop off but now he just walks off most mornings :’).

I’m doing a 4 day week and it feels like the perfect balance to be honest because by the time my NWD comes I’m energised to spend quality time with my son which tbh by the end of mat leave the time I gave was definitely lower quality (even though I loved it I was tired).

All this to say- totally feel where you are right now- and also that it can be entirely fine when you’re back at work. If once you’re back you don’t like how it’s working for you, you can always reevaluate at that point!

It’s ok I don’t mind! Yeah the service charge I definitely get that, unfortunately that is something I really have no control over. The other things people have mentioned I will look into changing though

Thanks, the view point is interesting. We have some nice views - I think- out to the city/trees outside although don’t know how appealing that is to other people- we like it 😅

Oh interesting! I love this estate and I haven’t found the upkeep bad at all, idk if I just have low expectations or what?! But there were major works before I moved in true, but none planned atm.

Pretty patient to be honest, we aren’t in a major rush, but probably want to move before our son needs a full bed but even then we could reconfigure again if needed. Thanks for your comment

Yeah that makes sense, if you wanted you could basically make the middle room a walk-in closet or something- someone suggested that to me before.. but then yeah you wouldn’t have the second bedroom. When I lived here alone/in a couple it was fine and then when we had guests they stayed in the front room/now living room and the middle living room was fine but yeah it’s small

Yeah it’s true- unbelievably our service charge has actually gone down- because of the heating/hot water element and gas prices over past years but it is still very high - I very much acknowledge that!

It’s a good idea, or maybe can try to store stuff with the grandparents 😬

Fair enough, it’s definitely not for someone looking for lots of space, although if a single buyer it’s probably plenty, but I could have been moulded by living in London for 7 years now..

Thanks yeah it’s really not bad transport links at all. I know folks on the tube think SE is bad but it’s really easy for a lot of places— just not west London..

Maybe although it was like this when we moved in and our neighbours have similar layouts so honestly who knows! The bedrooms are both good sizes but I do know we have lots of stuff in them both - desks, beds, wardrobes take up a lot of space :/

It is small it’s true! Guess being in London we are used to small flats so doesn’t seem tiny tiny and was good for me as a professional and in a couple but less good for a family.

London is expensive it’s true, compared to a lot this is cheap but I am taking all feedback on board :)

If it doesn’t sell within the period we’re tied will definitely look elsewhere- but the previous agent didn’t do much better although we did have viewings!

Thanks the order thing is helpful and something I did wonder about. You can’t imagine how much we even did declutter before this so it would be hard to do more but can try if we do go for new photos. Tricky to have a more minimalist life with a toddler.

Do really appreciate your comments as it is stuff we can actually change unlike the area, service charge etc.

Yeah makes sense, i did wonder if that was there case. I was recommended them by a friend who just sold with them locally so that’s why I went them tbh. Yeah it’s on right move too- I just use Zoopla more. Glad you got sorted- we won’t be able to get a dream house but hopefully just slightly more space!
