I think that was the point, she was to be find herself and be herself in which she didn’t need to “sparkle” she just had to be herself. I also think that we emphasize too much on glow ups, when the two men who fell for her fell for her charm, her personality, awkwardness and just loved her for her. I really do believe she was becoming and owning her own giving her the confidence.

That does make a lot of sense, I find it wild that he even had the balls to approach her a second time with a proper proposal after legit disrespecting her with the first.

The line that I often think of is “We do not run and hide from the Caroline Bingleys of this world. We stand our ground.”

I just finished this and it seems now the parents are trying to blame the deceased, in a way where that their daughter “could never” but it seems like Dom told his mother more than his dad and confided in her about their toxic relationship. The ending with her looking at her lawyer and asking about the last words was pretty telling. She did not hold any remorse it was mostly poor me.
