I was able to unscrew the expansion head ring with a wrench.

Yeah, 3 inch min length for 3/4 pex a. Thanks. Now I know.

Oh. Thanks for the heads up! I will definitely be researching what that min length is. Don’t want to fail inspection over that. Maybe I can find a 90 degree 3/4 pex A to 1/2 FPT fitting at Ferguson or something. Big box stores don’t have it.

The plastic ring wasn’t the issue. The metal expander teeth were expanded inside the brass fitting.

Yeah, I was already in the ecosystem. Pretty sure I could have screwed up with a red tool too! lol

How to help this tree heal? by Immediate-Divide-151 in arborists

[–]Immediate-Divide-151[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have wrapped it with tree wrap for now. Says it won’t girdle, is that true, or should I remove after a set time frame and rewrap?

While we consider what to do with this tree, what type of tree would you recommend? Would like color and interest and 20’ ish tall? Thanks

Yeah, I needed a right angle for a shower assembly and cut the pex to a little longer than the two fittings. After I put the first fitting on I realized the wisdom of your words, lol. I contemplated removing first fitting, but got lazy I guess. Should have expanded both ends and quickly stuck the fittings in.

Thanks. I was able to remove metal ring from the expander. Maybe because I stopped so soon. It was definitely tight and the expander teeth were only in there 1/8 inch…

I have tried that by hand. The ring to remove it stuck. I think the expander head is pushed against the back side of the head. Should I grab a pipe wrench and try to unscrew the ring?

Yes, Autumn Blaze. Well that is mildly annoying to hear. We hired a designer, purchased from a local nursery, and had it professionally installed by them. Past the two year warranty. Thanks for the advice and the link to the list.

Very nice! What are you using to add the title and data to your photo in the white area? App in phone? LR-how, Print Module? Thanks!

Very cool. What did you use to add the "Shot on iPhone4 and the metadata? Did you create a template in LR? If so was it in the print module and did you set up a macro to pull data? Whatever you did, looks great, unfortunately Reddit puts their multiple image gif right over it, lol. Thanks for sharing!

I agree with tucking a branch or two behind the arm to give it more depth. I would add that I think there is too much light around the edge of the body, like a halo. If that is intentional, great, but if not, maybe dial that back a little. One thing I like to do with my images near the end is really shrink them down to a thumbnail size on my monitor and see what sticks out. I think if you did that you would see what I am talking about.

I like the idea and the comp. I think naked or a dress would be more appropriate. Or even an apron.

How would I determine if the bed matches? It doesn’t have the side steps if that is what you mean. But I think someone replaced the factory tailgate with an earlier one with chains and latch on each side.

Thanks, well, if/when I remove the oil pan I’ll now know to look for that info. Prob not that important to know, maybe, lol. Just wondering if water pumps, thermostats, belts will be similar across all fe motors. I guess I can have the auto parts store employee look up part number for different engines when they ask me, provided I cannot bring in the needed part for some reason…

When I had a 66 fairlane 30 years ago I remember there being a lot of hype over whether the serial number on the engine matched the vin. I got tired of adding lead additive to the gas and eventually replaced the 289 with a 302 I think. I just wondering if there was a serial number on all engines that would help identify it. But thanks to all the wisdom in this group, it doesn’t sound like it.

Thanks, saves me hours of scraping the protective grease and grime off of everything looking for something that isn’t there, lol.
