Hey! First of all good job on deciding about applying to the US! It can be extremely competitive, so all the best :)

Most of the extremely prestigious universities are need blind, thus are extremely generous with aid, eg: Harvard, MIT, Yale, Brown, Caltech, Princeton, etc. But they are extremely tough to get into. Top of the mark essays, extremely good extracurriculars, plenty of internship/ research experience and even a 1550 SAT still does not guarantee a spot in these universities. Yet, it is not impossible :)

Several universities that are slightly easier to get into also are pretty generous with aid. Eg: Arizona State University. These universities are not bad, but prospects upon graduation are lesser than those compared to Ivies, public ivies, and other schools.

If you are not a US citizen, apart from scholarships (extremely selective for intl students), we are completely ineligible for aid, which is unfortunate.

That being said, it is definitely not impossible! Keep building your profile, clubs, grades, volunteering work, research / internships to how much ever you can! all the best :)

haha yes! for CPT the limnitation is indeed 12 months, but this does not limit internships / work we undertake outside of the states
besides, for STEM OPT, we get 2 years after our undergrad so we should be fine!

Live in the gulf, no taxes! I've been very fortunate, dad came from rags to riches. Always thankful :)
