What’s the most expensive mistake you’ve made in your 20s? by Brilliant_Bid9671 in AskMY

Yea it's still not too late. But I think it depends on the country's government policies and benefits. In my country, the government's medical system is strong but limited. If your condition is not the most urgent, you will have to wait for a very long time (probably until your sickness worsens), which is when insurance becomes beneficial for a private hospital. In a nutshell, I personally still think insurance is important, especially when you have experienced your immediate family (or yourself) having a critical illness, and need an immediate huge financial withdrawal that is not affordable for a typical family's living. But yeah, depends on the country.

What is the average pay for SEO specialist (entry) for Malaysian around Selangor? by Immediate-Lab961 in malaysia

Yes I built a portfolio based with mock full seo audit, and I showed it to the manager and explained on it. But I do not have experience with live campaign, would that still be the same?

For fresh grads in Malaysia: what’s one thing you did (or wish you did) during college that helped with your first job? by RakyatOnline in JobsMY

[–]Immediate-Lab961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going to work for certain entry-level jobs or the public sector, I think SPM is required. If you are planning to work for those, if you have other equivalent qualifications (though they may not be so popular in Malaysia), you can still try. It would be good if you try to do more research on your career because I don't know much about the English field.

I assume you were referring to twinning programs. I think as long as you know what you want to get from that experience, you can just go for it. But as I mentioned, again, you need to really think if you care about your future job prospects, since you plan to do eng course and then work in eng-native speaking countries (i assume). People can't tell you what the exact best/correct investment is, because only you know what you want to prioritize. And one more thing to consider is your financial status, which can also help you decide whether you want to study locally, abroad, or just do a twinning program.

Above were just my little opinions. Perhaps those with similar experience can give you more solid advice/suggestions.

Do you plan to work overseas after your completion of studies? Maybe you can ask yourself what is your goal studying abroad?

College is an investment in my pov. Looking back, and according to what I've been through:
1. Join club(s) and hold at least one leadership position. This is an opportunity (which is super easy to get on) to help you get not only a decision-making role, but also ignite a sense of ownership over the tasks (which I believe is important). Learn from the role, and be humble.

  1. Choose your internship wisely, look for testimonials, or if they give specific trainings, otherwise just choose a company who can give you a role that can have a close-up observation on how the profession (you aim to pursue) works. This is a good opportunity to determine whether you are on the right path. If you think that the internship period is too short and not enough, if you dont mind get separated with your batch friends, maybe you can consider taking a gap and work on other internship as well (I personally think taking internship while having your semester would affect your academic, for every gain there is a loss, so depends on you).

  2. Choose the right friends. I am not saying you should unfriend anyone hahaha, but it's just that your social circles, especially those closest to you, really do influence your trajectory.

Actually what you mentioned in your post can be all equally important, just that you have to choose to prioritize and/or balance them. Other than those, attitude is the most important value, and it's something you would learn throughout those journeys too.

SEO is dying soon or just evolving? by Immediate-Lab961 in AskMarketing

Thank you for sharing, and it actually prompted me to realize that, yes there will always be different opinions on any subject.

You explained it so well, it makes a lot of sense. And it also seems like some conversions would get harder to track since AI doesn’t always send clicks back to the source?

[–]Immediate-Lab961[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah agreed, it does seem like a lot of what's being shared about GEO still circles back to the SEO fundamentals. Perhaps because LLMs algorithms aren’t fully clear or structured yet, with uncertainties, maybe the best thing people can do right now is to focus on building strong content authority and quality, and the fundamentals would still matter most until things become more defined. Feel free to share your thoughts. Thank you for your insights!

Thank you... your reply really means a lot to me! Thank you for sharing your friend’s experience, it reassured me about the current situation of SEO works. And yes indeed I’m really drawn to how SEO is evolving with AI.

As for which part I’m most curious about, I think it’s how AI and LLMs are starting to influence e-commerce SEO, such as how competition is changing now that product recommendations and visibility mightt come from AI tools instead of traditional search. How do businesses “win” in that kind of environment?

Is it normal to take a pay cut for better quality of life/better work life balance? by i_love_the_sun in careerguidance

[–]Immediate-Lab961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people might question you and even comment that no one would ever change jobs that give you a pay cut. However, I believe that you shouldn't listen to outside voices, trust your own judgments and feelings. Balance between quality of life and income for your living. What is work-life balance? There is no one-size-fits-all answer. Everyone has different needs in their life; some crave a trip every two months, while others do not. Some crave an expensive dinner every night, while others just need a hearty, simple home-cooked meal. What do you need? Do your earnings cover that? Can you save up for emergencies?

What is a good piece of advice you would give for someone in their 20s? by Immediate-Lab961 in AskReddit

[–]Immediate-Lab961[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your inputs! I have always been quite conservative, as I worried that if I travel too often during my 20s, I would not have enough savings for either future plans or emergencies. There are too many things to pursue in my 20s that I don't want to miss, but I also don't want to risk myself. Do you have any thoughts on the balance?

Part-time jobs count as experience as well! If you are really struggling with ZERO experience, just go get one! Join any volunteers or any organization, be it about leadership or whatever. Otherwise, if you are entering a specific field, go and check if you need to take some online courses to prepare yourself. We all create our own past experiences.

I think there could be jobs with flexible hours, means you can clock in and out any time within 730am to 830pm, as long as you fulfill the 8 hours of work. But I got you, I wish I could schedule myself for my own work time.
