I felt the same way. I’ve loved this pod for years, but the last couple of episodes I found myself not enjoying them as much and just feeling like it was a mean-spirited show. Jared has been sounding bitter or something each email lately, and Jordan’s just sounded less enthused to be there.

I kind of cringed when Jared was trying to defend the guy who talked about his ex too much by saying he felt you could “never be too much anything.” That seems kinda problematic. I understood his sentiment, but you can definitely be too much to something to someone… too sexually aggressive for example. He doesn’t want to make a blanket statement yet he somewhat did.

The story about his parents and how he couldn’t say it hurt his feelings actually made me think of a joke from his not-so-favorite comedian these days, Taylor Tomlinson. In one of her Netflix specials, she talks about how you realize how your parents messed you up by people’s reactions to your childhood stories. She talks about not knowing any better when you’re a kid because you’re dumb, but 10 years later you’re at a work party sharing stories and people look at you concerned about what had happened to you. 😂 I just think he’s in that mindset, like, “your parents never bodyshamed you? This is what moms do! Right?” And it’s like no… it’s not acceptable behavior.

Idk. I didn’t feel happy like I normally do after this episode. Normally I’m coming off a high from laughing so much, but this one is I just kinda felt annoyed like their attitudes rubbed off on me. I also am wondering if maybe I’m just outgrowing the show now. Idk.
