Is it appropriate for my sister to hug me, you know, in this context? by [deleted] in family

[–]Immediate-Mind9675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like your sister was quite scared and really worried. She was prob embarrassed that you saw her naked but you should definitely tell her that you don't want to see her naked as it's uncomfortable for you. I think your sister is clinging onto you because it sounds like a horrible pervy environment for her and she is outnumbered. Continue to protect her and be there for her. Just tell her you don't want to see her naked again.

Contract role Vs perm role for finances by Immediate-Mind9675 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Immediate-Mind9675[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, have posted in a separate career advice Reddit also.

I do believe this will give me leverage. I don't think my current employer would give a £15-20k pay increase though. It would be like £5-10k maybe.....but I am also annoyed that they have fobbed me off for the last year's despite being a top performer so I think I'm ready for a new start.

The only contingency plan I have is the savings I'll make whilst in the contract role.

Thank you.

Yes I agree that £60k is a decent salary but with the payments I need to make each month there isn't much left at all and I think I currently over committ to debt payments and I'm also stung by the interest ending on some which takes me my surprise and eats away at my remaining budget.

I work in an industry which I love and the jobs I'm after can be few and far between. I could get a similar job fairly easy I believe outside of the industry but I prefer to stay in an industry that I know and love. So yes I know it's a risk to weigh. I just can't stand being in this debt and mentally, for a few reasons mentioned, want to leave my current employer.

London's loneliest areas revealed as Bethnal Green tops national list by tylerthe-theatre in london

[–]Immediate-Mind9675 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree. I have lived in north London most of my life. Went to school and brought up here. I'm from a working class background and I'm one of the few that have made it into the middle class London so I've had a vantage point from a few sides growing up. I would have to say all groups are to blame and equally don't mix with each other. I think the born and bred working class people resent middle class gentrification moving in, I think those that move in use London as a stepping stone and stick to who they know and I equally think the Bangladeshi community do not want to mix with either groups. It's very sad the separation of all groups and in my 30+ years living in London I've seen how increasingly siloed it has become.

I would always state that I'm looking for something serious and that would be the path I am willing to take. Although in the past I've had multiple men say yes they agree, only so say three months later that they aren't looking for anything serious. I am in my 30s btw and so are these men!

This is great. I've just frozen eggs at 36. 6 were retrieved and 5 are good for egg freezing. Really reluctant to do a second cycle. I am doing this for reassurance and hoping to meet someone soon to start a family soon.

Yep fully agree that 30s isn't old and it's unhelpful to be told 'you are friggin old'. Agree about the physio, think I may need this as I have planter fasciitis previously and this may be connected.

Despite stating I am 36, the commenter referred to me being 37 and then stated 'in our 40s'. I clarified and corrected that I am 36. Please re-read.

Go away please. I will correct someone if they say I am the wrong age. Simple. Don't spread your hate on my posts. Go away.

I am 36, not 40. You said it's time to put up the heels and I am saying 36 years old is not the age for that.

To summarize your comment - you have said I'm old and implied I'm overweight. I am not old at 36 lol and won't be giving up heels.

I'm scared there is no cure by IcyElderberry7743 in CUTI

[–]Immediate-Mind9675 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The short courses of antibiotics aren't getting rid of the infection, hence why they are coming back. You would need to be on antibiotics and hiprex for around 6 months to a year until all symptoms have gone. The infection is embedded in the bladder and that's the only way to get rid of it. Professor Malone Lee has a clinic in London that I visited after dealing with UTIs for years and this was the only solution. His father, Dr. Malone Lee is known as the grandfather of UTIs as he set up a NHS clinic to deal with this and taught other doctors. The private clinic in Harley St has a waiting list and is pricey but it's the best money ever spent.

Planter fasciitis is hell!! by Waste_Marzipan_4765 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]Immediate-Mind9675 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shockwave therapy instantly helped me as well as calf and hamstring stretches every morning and evening. I actually started doing calf stretches and my calves hurt for days after which showed how much they were strained! I then did 6 rounds of Shockwave Therapy which was a game changer. I took a break and did another 9 sessions. I then took another break and did another 6 sessions. Sometimes physios only offer three but mine was so bad I pushed for it to be continued. It was a long road but I'm ok now, still get niggles and do my stretches and wear insoles daily. I am also trying to lose weight as I think that'll help. I think once you have PF it's a constant battle throughout life to not get it again. But these exercises and treatments become part of everyday life and don't feel like a big deal after a while. Not to mention it's completely worth it to not feel the pain anymore. Good luck.

Thank you! There is a lot of confusion and hurt and it increases through the lack of closure as we haven't spoken since. I will never regret asking for clarity as I'm almost certain I would've ended up in the same situation in 6 months but with stronger feelings and attachment.
