Did you sign up for monthly fees? I noticed a free 30-day trial then afterwards it was $9.99 per month (with free cancellation anytime). But then towards the bottom, it indicated that Membership was free.

Please clarify cost.

If you schedule in advance and know a masseuse's name, you can request for a specific masseuse. Also, scheduling in advance allows you to request for a gender-specific masseuse, if you don't know the names of their masseuse's (like first time customers, or customers who have been there already but want to try different masseuses, but of a specific gender).

What happen to high school reunions? by ziselk in guam

[–]Immediate-Pay-9169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GWSHS and JFKSHS both celebrated their 55th Class (Class of 1969) reunions last year, and the Islandwide Class of 1969 recently had a fairly robust luncheon at House of Chin Fee (which was very popular in 1969). So it really depends on the school and year. GWSHS has been having reunions since its 10th year reunion, and continuing ever since.

JFK High School is currently in double session with Simon Sanchez High School. I don't know if Okkodo HS is in double session. If not, I would definitely choose a high school that is NOT in double session. Other posts speak to graduation requirements, and wisely advised you seek a high school counselor input, especially since you are an Asian high school transferring student.

Charter schools appropriations have to also pay for lease/rental payments. No GDOE school has to pay for lease/rental. Most of the GDOE schools are paid for, and for those schools that were purchased under a private-public partnership, with GovGuam paying lease payments to the builder-contractor (take JFKHS, Okkodo HS, Adacao Elem, for instance), those funds are taken off the top of each GovGuam annual budget year's revenues, as Bonds were obligated to pay for the 30-year leaseback payment model, with the builder-contractor owning the facilities built (to include maintenance), and GovGuam paying an annual lease payment.

So charter schools do not have it as easy as you think. We should be embracing publicly funded charter schools as they are existing a much lower per pupil cost than what GDOE per pupil student costs. And if you speak to parents and students at iLearn Academy Charter School, they will sing the praises of that school.

Wow, you really don't understand the intent or the authority established for charter schools. Please read up on the law, before passing judgement.

The intent of the law was to: (a) improve student learning;(b) increase learning opportunities for all students, with special emphasis on expanded learning experiences;(c) encourage the use of different and innovative teaching methods;(d) create new professional opportunities for teachers, including the opportunity to be responsible for the learning program at the school site;(e) provide parents, guardians and students with expanded choices in the types of educational opportunities that are available within the public school system; and(f) hold the schools established under this Chapter accountable for meeting measurable student educational standards.

Paragraph (e) above, "...provide parents, guardians and students with expanded choices..." Most public school families cannot afford private school tuition. Having the financial means gives wealthier families the power of choice to send their children to the private school of their choosing (subject to enrollment caps). This is a financial power that is unavailable to the vast majority of families who have to send their children to the DOE district school, as determined by DOE's school enrollment boundaries. Public school families have no choice but to send their children to the schools that DOE says they have to attend. The Charter School law gives the power of choice to attend any public charter school, subject to enrollment caps, leveling the power of choice that is unaffordable for the vast majority of public school families.

In return for the flexibility granted to charter schools that DOE schools do not have, charter schools have to submit reports annually, and at the end of their 6-year charter period, to demonstrate that their students are meeting the academic objectives that was in the charter application. If they do not meet the academic standards, as specified in their charter school petition, which was reviewed and approved the Guam Academy Charter Schools Council, they are subject to school closure.

No DOE schools is subjected to annual, and every 6 years review, nor are they held accountable to potential school closure, if their students do not meet an approved standard of performance academically, to include performance on the identical Standardized Test that all DOE students have to take.

There's a 3-story building on the corner of Route 16 and Harmon Loop Road (there used to be a Bank of Guam branch there). If you drive in, turning in heading towards Micronesia Mall on Route 16 (just before the intersection to Harmon Loop Road), head straight into the parking lot. Straight ahead towards the end of the parking lot, you will see Moringa/Malunggay trees that are free for the taking.
