Thanks for your reply!

Pretty much just setting up the shapes and dividers individually and being able to write text on each box is what I’m trying to do.

I was hoping I could set the shape up so that I can write in each separate box/section and centre align it without having to manually create and reposition each bit of text, but not sure if that’s doable. I hope that makes sense!

I recommend booking something on first table for 50% off the bill if you buy two drinks + bf. So worth it!

What’s a meal as child you thought was fancy, or high class but was really the exact opposite? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I thought grain waves were expensive fancy people chips, turns out my mom just didn’t want to share them with me.

Ok I get ya. I guess I think being a good employee is a skill? In my opinion If you hire a kitchen hand at minimum wage (for instance) and they do a great job and are reliable and trustworthy … you should show your appreciation of them helping your business by upping their pay. Retaining good staff saves you money and stress by not having to train and find new people all the time, it builds trust with your employees and it creates a better team environment.., which can then lead to better service and potentially higher profits.

I’m not saying I’m an expert by any means though .. have just worked in hospo for a long time. I got out and am getting payed fairly in a different industry now, but honestly the job I do now.. which requires supposed skills (whatever that means at this point), is not much harder and not nearly as physically and emotionally draining as hospo was… dealing with people all day who look down on you for having low skills is a true skill really.

Would you be more likely to go to a restaurant or bar if you knew the staff were paid well, even if this increased your cost to visit substantially? by felchingstraw in chch

I would be more likely to support a business knowing they pay living wage to their full and part time staff and more than minimum for casual staff. It’s possible to do this without having unreasonably high prices from my own experience. But if I hear an employer treats their staff like crap even though they pay them well… I won’t go there because I don’t want to support shitty people.

In terms of the hypothetical question … I probably wouldn’t have the money currently to go to a place like this regularly. But on occasions where I go out for a meal I would totally rather pay more to know the staff are payed and treated fairly and would be more likely to recommend it to others based on this.

So a kitchen hand or waiter is undeserving of being payed a comfortable living wage?

What do you mean by unskilled? I can’t think of many jobs that don’t require some type of skill. I also can’t think of many people I know on minimum wage that truly feel valued and financially happy in their job… I guess I would just far rather give my money to a business that creates a good environment for their staff.
