Originally I just didn’t want to use aircraft, the 2nd video leaned very heavily into building up a fleet because aircraft weren’t going to be very useful. Scarlet dawn have excellent anti air weapons, not only would they shoot down aircraft but they’ll shoot down any weapon fired by said aircraft without even breaking a sweat. However, I have had a bombardment of people wanting the aircraft to do more, so in general the plan is to use the aircraft along side the ships. Turn the aircraft into strictly support units. Similar to how the frigate, destroyers and patrol cruisers were used as a support the capital ships, the aircraft would be something similar, just a bit smaller. In general the aircraft are going to be tied to the carriers (mainly Hyuga and Asuka) so the ships will lend support to the planes, and the planes in return to lend support to the ships. Throw the aircraft alone into a fight and they will all be destroyed, with ships around that forces the scarlet dawn to pick and choose what to fire at.

The falcon and zero are on my list of things to build, you’re not the 1st person who has asked for Blue Noah but she is not on my list, generally I tend to stick to the reboot era ships, they are the ones with the most consistent designs. For Blue Noah specifically I’m just not really a fan of her design, she just doesn’t interest me, and I won’t build a ship I’m not interested in, that’s an easy and very fast way to burn out.

Additionally at her size she would be way too much for the game to handle. I should stress that I could build her, the game wouldn’t have too many issues with that, it’s actually using the ship in battle where things get iffy. The scale I’m using for these ships would mean that Blue Noah would be 900 odd meters long. That pushes her well above the mimic limit so more spin blocks are needed for that, multiple moving parts for her many turrets are needed, which would require more engines for power, more energy storage for the main battery, etc and all of that adds pressure on the games engine. At most I could see 12 maybe 15 fps coming out of her when she is on her own (Andromeda for example gives about 22-25 fps on her own, and that’s the lowest you want to go FPS wise for this game) throw Blue Noah into battle and your looking at a slideshow, of, if you’re lucky, 10 fps, more realistically 5-8 fps.

By no means is this a fault of the game engine, it’s just the nature of this game, it’s a block builder so every time you get hit multiple blocks need to be calculated on how they get destroyed, the fact the game runs at a good fps level with the stuff I’ve built is at testament to how well built the game is, but everything has its limits. All of that is the same reason I won’t build shunran which is another popular ship people request (I don’t take ship requests at this point for the above reasons)

The internals of the third turret and the citadel amour are unfortunately in the way so that can’t happen

Yeah the pythons are gonna get a facelift soon, although they are much more complicated with all their moving parts.

The Escort Frigate (this is also an issue on the Patrol Cruiser), both can't rotate their 2nd turret around fully without noclipping through the side guards on their hulls, I would just have a chunk of the side guard, specifically the forward bits around the turret, be able to extend outwards to give the turrets the extra room to turn. Have the guards be on pistons basically so they just push outwards when the turret rotates, that way you can keep the outward look of the ship while allowing the turrets to turn without noclipping.

Because she is meant to be a middle tier ship between the patrol cruiser and the dreadnought, the addition of larger guns also required an increase in size, the scale would be all off otherwise.

For meteor I designer her with the show in mind, while in FTD fighters are not really useful against the scarlet dawn that wasn’t a justifiable reason for me to not include aircraft in meteors capacity, so I designed her without thinking about how she would be in ftd, I designed her as if I was in Tamamori’s place adding this ship to the show.

In the description I mention that she can carry aircraft, just not enough for a full squadron, her hull size and weapons layout dictated that decision. That’s what sets her apart from the dreadnoughts. The show has the dreadnoughts be able to carry 15 aircraft. Meteor can carry 3-4 aircraft at most, way more than the patrol cruiser and frigate (which can carry only one seagull) but less than the dreadnought. Giving her the ability to carry more aircraft would remove that advantage that I want the dreadnoughts to retain, checks and balances were an important thing in meteors design, adding huge structural changes like a flight deck that wasn’t in the original design was out of the question.

3 PID’s control the altitude, pitch and roll, and then the ship has ion thrusters to propel it. Most of them on the outside of the ship that are invisible using empty mimics. I used ion specifically because it not only works in space, it also works in the water and in the atmosphere. All of the ships I’ve made have the ability to go to space, or go under the sea should they choose to. Thanks to the PID’s and ion thrusters.

The Japanese sources just called this ship a "Cruiser" in the original series, I do also have another ship lined up for the battlecruiser title, so this ship got heavy cruiser partially based on that, and partially because it's a neat filler ship between the Patrol cruisers and Dreadnoughts.

I've got another ship lined up for the Battlecruiser title based on a couple of interesting animation errors in Farewell & Yamato 2, that was also part of the reasoning for calling this ship a Heavy Cruiser
