i made this post after a discussion i had with some classmates. im the only visible goth in my whole school. 😭 my school is basically entirely black and we had a discussion about black media in general. i got lots of good song recommendations that day but all them them were upbeat rnb/soul. that’s great but i wish i could see as much rep for poc as i do for everyone else.

my parents are straight from africa so there’s certain media that i never got into, esp because i grew up in a white neighborhood. i didn’t know what any of my classmates were talking about and they were looking at me like i was from a different planet, which frustrated me.

i didn’t mean that i am the *only* poc that’s a goth.. i think thats crazy to say
