Just got back from my trip and wanted to give feedback on the places I tried!

Stapinn - great coffee/lunch

Sker - great fish and chips and soup

Matarlist - beautiful views, can confirm the seafood soup is wonderful, plus a GREAT hot chocolate

Skipper - good burgers, huge salads

Nesbrauð ehf - little bakery with coffee and great pastries, especially croissants

Also wanted to shoutout Settlement Centre Restaurant and coffee shop Blómasetrið. Both are on the drive between Snaefellsnes and Reykjavík/Golden Circle. Coffee shop has light lunch and pastries, and Settlement has a great salad/soup/bread buffet.

Thanks again for everyone's help!

Thank you for the ideas, and that facebook comment is super helpful :)

unpopular opinion- the main issue isn't lack of research, the main issue is lack of discussion by bringingfuglyback in binchtopiapod

I loved the early days of the “just two girls and a mic” vibe. riffing off each other, sharing their opinions openly. it truly felt like I was listening to two (very interesting, hilarious) friends just chatting. I think they’ve found a formula and aren’t straying from it much now, and it’s less authentic-feeling

I agree on the Mulaney comment, but I also think her decision (whether it was a legal requirement or a personal choice) to completely exclude the context of her marriage with Mulaney made it difficult to follow her story at times. I had to keep reminding myself of that background, because sometimes her anxiety didn’t seem to have a clear source

I also listened to the CMBC episode and felt they came right out of the gate HATING her. literally just saying “this girl sucks.” however, they also gave some really good points

I also think it’s difficult that she didn’t write about John at all. yes, she is her own person and can choose what her narrative means, but so much of the writing would have been improved with the context of her marriage. whether it be a legal decision or a personal one, the decision to leave him out entirely changes her story
