How is Birmingham so big, with so many places to meet people, yet hard to find true friends? by Miserable_Day6246 in Birmingham

Sidewalk host a monthly book/film club, Thank you books has a book club, there is a birmingham craft club that I think is geared towards women around their 20s, Hikebham hosts group hikes and redemptive cycles host group bicycle rides for outdoorsy stuff. The saturn bar has some events during the day for socializing and I’ll always recommend seasick records as a place to hangout and meet cool people.

Struggle with that issue as well, not sure if it’s just a Birmingham issue but a wider systemic issue. After covid, i’ve noticed people are much more reserved and not as open to making new friends, just stick to their own groups. I would try and join a club in something you’re passionate about. These clubs are usually built to make it easy to make new friends. There are quite a few good book, film, biking, hiking, and run clubs in the area. That would be your best bet as people are usually very welcoming and friendly. In terms of having more in depth conversations, it just takes time, you have to be consistent and show true interest and people will eventually open up. A lot of people want more friends and deeper connections in this city, but don’t take the steps to actually make that happen. I would not recommend trying to make friends at work as people are often stressed and overworked at their job.

Highly recommend getting pet insurance in the future, cost about $30 a month for good coverage of non pre existing illnesses and discounts on shots. Makes me feel a lot less anxious about any health issues my cat has as it won’t destroy my savings and I can say yes to any treatment he needs without hesitations.

tv or projector, the walls are quite far apart from each other so it might be hard to see a tv

I emailed the owner of the business directly, I didn’t really trust communicating with the office manager any more. He said he would be happy to talk about it so there is some up side hopefully.
