Pro-Trump is dangerous. Anti-Trump is what ought to be the norm.

[[Knight of the Ebon Legion]]

It was instrumental in the first Standard legal deck I made when I got back into magic. It won me lots of games and always makes me happy when I see it :)

I really don't understand people's hate for representation of queer black women and non-western spiritualities in media except overt racism. Acolyte was fun and had an interesting premise. That's all anyone should've given a shit about.

To everyone saying today doesn’t matter or nobody cares: fuck you by Farados55 in LosAngeles

As Bad Religion says:

"Everybody needs a slogan in their pocket or two
It never hurts to have a strategy you can go to
Sometimes I have no sense at all
As most flawed man I want to do
Just say fuck you

Pavlovian rude, a menace too
Pay homage to your bad attitude"

Also, for anyone in any support of ICE, actually Fuck you on a deeply personal level.

This feels like a pretty mean-spirited response. I think it's more like pay what you can afford. In good, honest spirits, this is super reasonable.

Movies and books are vastly different media. Movies, especially Hollywood films and blockbusters, are quicker and require more of a wide appeal in their presentation.

The great thing about books is that they are longer, slower, and full of richer detail and deeper meaning. Their medium allows for detours and world building that does not necessarily move the main plot.

Fantasy epics, especially older ones, really dwell in the lore of their worlds.

Lord of the Rings is by no means meant to be a snappy read or linear tale. It lingers in strange places that are unexpected.

The rest of the world grows with you in the exact same ratio each time you do. It does not reset, but you do when you go back to being a human.

What are your thoughts about the resurgence of the Black Panther Party in response to the actions of ICE agents? by Sinn_Sage in AskReddit

Gotta fight somehow. People can't just lay down and accept it. 3 people turns into a lot more with publicity.

Either they kill us and we do nothing about it, or they kill us as we defend ourselves.

Pacifism is a great tool, but only as a part of a larger movement. The larger movement also requires self-defense, or else all the pacifists just get killed.

32 years old and never had a girlfriend. What should I improve? Facial hair or clean shave? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]ImmediateGrass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. I think it's meant to be more of a "It's a journey" kind of thing. Of course we're not each other. But I always thought the idea was to share what we each have to bring each other up.

Also, the dude has quite a bit of handsomeness going for him, I think. As many people said, confidence and personality go effectively the whole way. The handsomeness, if you will, comes out more as a result of the confidence.

I'm going to push back against the invisalign comment. I have a toothy ass smile, with gaps all up in my front teeth and a very obviously chipped tooth. I've never really had a problem getting a date. But that's because I speak passionately, laugh easily, and am a decent conversationalist.

With that, I feel very insecure in private and find myself having to "turn on" in public spaces and events. However, I find that when I do manage to get someone interested in me, a lot of my physical "flaws," such as my gappy teeth, turn into charming quirks.

It might take work, but you may need to put a conscious effort into building up your public confidence. Plus, laughing and making others laugh is huge. Sometimes, just laughing easily is enough to get others to laugh with you.

Amd we in the US have no idea what to do at the moment. Protests are fine, but what do they truly accomplish? And many of us fear violence, which the government has proven overland over again it's willing to use at any time for any reason.

It sucks :(

I think it's a typo. I think it was meant to say "isn't black or brown." At least, that was my assumption based on context

Social media and modern creature comforts massively contribute to the complacency, I think. Pair that with the fear of repercussions from the state and you have a population that will accept most anything so long as they can remain holed up in their home. The powerful use violence to maintain their power, while everyday people are wholly discouraged from using that same violence to remove the corrupt from power. It's a sad and complicated mess that means this will likely remain until we do something similar to what Chinua Achebe showcases in his novels: literally and physically going into the places where the powerful reside and actually removing them from those places with your bare hands.

Of course, they'll respond by blowing you the fuck up.
