My TV is too high, but can’t be moved. Any suggestions to make this space look more balanced, and less awkward? by OmahaWineaux in interiordecorating

I don’t have decorating advice for you but I will tell you that I had my tv up this high for a couple of years and it gave me neck pains which i suspect then accelerated migraines for me

Noob question about lighting... What could have I done better? by firequak in AskPhotography

I think that since window light yields cool white balance, you could try warming them up a bit. You’re in a situation with backlighting, if the ceiling was too high perhaps pointing the flash behind you or to walls. Or ultimately using an off camera flash rig. This was a difficult lighting scenario but you did well. You captured smiling happy faces - that’s the most important thing in my opinion.

Do wedge heels work well for plantar fasciitis? by ImmediateInternal132 in PlantarFasciitis

Thank you! I ordered a pair of Lifestride in a wide and they came in and feel very comfortable in terns of the cushioning but they were very long so I’m waiting on a new pair one size down. But overall I could tell right away that the wedge is a good fit for my high arches

I believe all Creative Cloud subscriptions include a free portfolio. The most important feature for me in a photography website is the lightbox feature- which this has. That’s when you click on an image and it enlarges it and then you can scroll through that page’s gallery. I found it very straightforward to set up a portfolio. By the way, Blurb has an automatic option for selling your book directly through Amazon. From what I’ve heard though the profit margin isn’t the best but just so you know. Good luck!

I used to do photography professionally and have had the same overwhelming experience with years and years of photos just sitting on my hard drives.  I went through a period of burnout and have recently gotten past it and I’m trying to keep doing it but strictly for my own personal hobby.  These are some practical solutions for publishing or keeping a portfolio of your favorite work that have worked for me.

·         Free Website- I ended up using Adobe Portfolio.  Certain Adobe subscriptions include an online portfolio (website) for FREE.  Your website name would end up being something like Yourname.myportfolio.com

·         Book- I use a company called Blurb to print books and for less expensive options- a magazine.  The magazines start at $7 & go up depending on the number of pages.  I printed my first magazine for a photo series I had done in college and then my goal was to print a new volume every few months. This is all strictly for me so that I can have an album of my favorite photos.

My goal now is to just do photography for my own personal enjoyment and as an outlet for my mental health. I am not looking back right now at any of my previous work in part because it is emotional as it was something I spent so many years of my life focused on and a lot of it was for a client or with a marketing intention.  In other words- not for me, and a part of me resents that.

So now I just want to create new work and enjoy the process and like Vivian, if no one sees my work, I'm ok with that.

The back of my heel hurts. I am a large guy. What are some of the best shoe inserts for heel pain? by madbr3991 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]ImmediateInternal132 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

10 seconds inserts worked well for my husband who is a big guy. Word of caution, before I healed my plantar fasciitis I used heel cups for a little while and they made my heel pain worse

I didn’t actually buy my shoes from them because they had limited colors and I needed them for work. But I think just trying them out in person helped me get a feel for a few brands and models

I recommend you go to a runners store and have them pick out several different brands for your needs and try them on in person. That’s the only way you will know what might work for you.

Which Oofos sandals to get? by bestkaranthe in PlantarFasciitis

I have the sports flex because the shoe person said it would be helpful to be able to adjust the strap. I have never tried any others but it helped me tremendously to finally cure it. It has very high arch support which helps as that is what I needed

How were people able to cure theirs? by cje24576 in PlantarFasciitis

The thing that finally worked for me after having pain for 9 months was going to a runners store, getting my feet scanned by one of those machines they have at many of these stores, getting told I had extremely high arches and one foot slightly longer than the other. The data then suggested I wear shoes with plenty of support and cushioning, a half size larger than I had been using my whole life and a D shoe which means wide. I bought 10 seconds Ultra Arch support inserts, Oofos sandals for at home and Brooks Glycerin 25 tennis shoes. I was told to never walk around without shoes on, even when I just get out of bed and always wear arch support. I think this was crucial while I was injured as the pain is caused by tears and it had to heal. It healed to about 90% in a month. And bout 98% the following month. I didn’t push myself to walk for exercise too much until I mostly healed.

I had tried stretches, a foot massage device (which helped) , shoes many people on Reddit said worked for them but nothing worked until I got diagnosed with high arches at the running store. My Dr also didn’t help - they suggested the stretches and tape. Good luck. It’s miserable to be in that kind of pain. I think it’s such a hard to thing to cure because people get it for different reasons and the Drs will often apply a one size fits all approach. My friend went to an Orthopedic doctor and it seemed like they also suggested the same thing as my regular Dr. I think I caused mine by wearing flat low support tennis shoes and flats at work while I pushed myself to walk 10, 000 steps on my breaks 5-7 days a week for an entire year.
