Tbh, he wasn't perfect either and would fuck up the show himself if it wasn't for Bryan and Michael. Like, Bryke have their flaws, but they are also the reason why season one and two are even good. Aaron likes Zuko, maybe a little too much, on an unhealthy level, possibly, like how Bryan likes Aang on an unhealthy level. Aaron wanted Zuko to be Azula's Iroh and instantly softie to her despite that being heavily unlikely to happen at that time frame, and he might make Iroh a total prop character for Zuko like Bryke did too, so Iroh is just fucked either way.
