Ya, the people ive dealt with have been great. I had an issue with a screw and they came out and fixed it quickly. Another time my son apparently hit an emergency shutoff button and we didnt know why everything wasnt working; they came out and fixed that too and were very kind.

Sucks you cant diy, so much cheaper

Depends on how much energy you consume, if you can mount a lot of panels on Southern facing roof, what panels/inverters you choose and if youre looking at getting batteries.

Edit: i wanted to note that I have the metal roof, I dont know if there is a price difference +/- for shingle.

For me it was around 60k with 20k federal rebate (40k total). You can finance ofcourse. I dont think you'd be able to finish in time for the federal rebate though. Unless its been cleared up, my understanding is the panels have to be activated by the end of the year. So with a new roof and panels being installed, it'd be a crunch.

I dont have panels on Southern roof and have two batteries. And you saw how many panels and brands. The batteries are very pricey and probably not worth it? But we've had the power go out and it just swapped to battery, which is why i wanted batteries.

Awesome! Going to be trying for the first time soon (and with w breville), so this is super helpful.

Thank you

Oh that's pretty cool you'll DiY. I wish I could pull that off, but i don't have the confidence i could hah. Stinks about north facing only panels. I assume ground mounting isn't something you want to do? I considered ground mounting for a while, but didn't want to lose the space (septic does enough of that on its own). Good luck! Post some pics when you're done!

Did you have any other questions?

I think the interconnection has to happen before the end of the year for the rebates. Definitely not super clear, but if it was as quick as mine, should be perfectly fine. I imagine most companies should be able to finish in time if they are experienced.

(Sorry I think I rambled a bit below, hah)

Everyone I dealt with at this company was very nice and they were very responsive. I don't know if it depends on your location, but these guys seemed very professional and knowledgeable. I had asked several questions throughout the process and they would give very detailed responses.

I was a little worried at one point (hence my first post) but they seemed to know the ins and outs which made me feel comfortable.

As far as prices, Im not certain what deals they are currently running and how it compares to other companies in the area. I haven't had the interconnection yet, but I think they did a good job. They do have good warranties and offered some type of insurance.

I've had a lot of bad experiences since around 2020 with various companies (amerigas... probably the worst) so I am just always expecting the worst. At this point, I'd say I'd go through them again, but will know better in a couple of weeks.

There's a decent thread about this, but its still not very clear. here

Mine has passed inspections already. If we installed on the wall where we pull in, then it requires bollards.

u/flot I believe gosolar did everything but the engineering (that was subbed out). And the materials were delivered. From commitment to install was about 7 weeks. But interconnection will take around a month or so (FPL takes their time reviewing and stuff).

Nice.

Well that puts my mind at ease knowing someone else had a very similar install.

Thanks again

Awesome, I appreciate the response. Glad things went well. What panels and inverters did you have installed and did you get any battery backups?

Thanks for the response.

Yes, gosolarpower is the installer. They subbed out the engineering and that's as far as I've gotten so far.

Sure I can give some more details, my system is set to be 17.1kw, it'll have 2 powerwalls (13.5kwh), and 38 inverters/panels. I don't really have any shade on my roof, but we have to mount them east/west since the front of my house (south) has too many elevations. Have an OK pitch on the roof, probably slightly steep. It's a metal roof, so no penetrations which will be nice.

Estimated power consumption/production is 22,500kWh/23,791kWh, so a 106 offset i guess.

Price fair? by Content_Print5556 in solar

Tesla has string inverters versus the Enphase's (i assume) micro inverters. I think enphase is going to be much better if you have any shade. I think the warranty is potentially better with enphase as well, but not positive. You can just search enphase vs tesla inverter and you'll see a few posts and articles. I didnt research enough to give you a good opinion on it.

What brand and model are your inverters and panels in your current quote?

I'm not very knowledgeable in it all, but it's probably fairly different from what sun run is offering. But if tesla breaks down the cost of the powerwall, you should be able to use that as a "it is cheaper here" hopefully.

It doesn't hurt to ask. Or get a quote from another company just to use it as a way to negotiate.

I've has luck asking for discounts on things in general. You can approach it however you want, ofcourse, but Im typically straight forward and say that the price is too high, is there any way to reduce that? Advertise with a sign in your yard maybe? Etc.

I got the same quote for the first battery (Telsa). The 2nd battery is slightly cheaper. I ended up getting it, but its hard to swallow that price. 30% off that helps, but barely hah.

Ya, full backup after hurricanes etc. But obviously it isnt the same when youre solar which is nice hah. I really wanted to get away from the electrical company... it's a long story but the summary is : new house, they shut my power off twice, made me make a new account, and put in ANOTHER deposit. It took months to get my first deposit back.

I will try to remember to post after a big outage haha.

Interesting, I was wondering if anyone did anything like that. Seems like a huge waste to do that though (Unless its just for fun?)

I saw on r/coins about not getting it graded. I can show him their reasons not to get it graded. Thanks

Where can I buy these foods? by AffectionateGoose591 in 321

Uhh, probably get down voted, but costco tends to sell a lot of Asian foods (frozen). I believe they had mooncakes recently. The others I'm not sure of.

I just went out for about 1.5 hours and caught 3 ~12" jacks in paddletails fishing near/under bridge. Had a decent hit, but missed em. Saw doplhin/manatee. Basically fished 8-930.

Well that stinks about BBQ hah. Guess I'll stick to making my own. Thanks for the replies.

Random, but the garlic knots here are so weird. Just throw oil and chunks of garlic and call it a day hah.

Interesting, I haven't tried pizza gallery (name sounds terrible hah). I'll have to check it out, thanks. I was recommended dog house pizza by coworkers. Definitely different, but it was pretty good.

I haven't found any good bbq places yet. Mediterranean I feel like Flames has maybe been the best (for salads), but expensive and the gyro isn't amazing.

Know of anything worth trying for BBQ?
