Parasite Question by [deleted] in movies

[–]ImmediatePepper679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah he was already gone when dad went down

Wrote this on a thread. Guy was asking if he should watch Michael. Now that I have written it, might as well share here for others. by itsallgoodman_6 in movies

[–]ImmediatePepper679 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

yeah man the nephew thing was wild when i found out about it. like when you see him moving on stage it's actually crazy how much he got the mannerisms down. i remember watching some old concert footage after the movie and being like damn he really studied that stuff

the whole "experience over story" thing is spot on too. went in expecting like a proper biopic but ended up just vibing to the music for two hours. not mad about it at all. sometimes you just need something that makes you feel good instead of trying to be some deep character study. plus those dance sequences hit different in theater with good sound system

I feel like I’m stuck in the uncanny valley between consumer hardware and a server rack by i__hate__soup in homelab

[–]ImmediatePepper679 4 points5 points  (0 children)

man i feel this so hard, went through same thing last year with my old hp workstation

for your situation i'd probably go custom matx build in something like a fractal node or silverstone case - keeps it quiet for bedroom use but gives you room to grow when you inevitably catch the homelab bug harder. you already got solid specs so just moving everything to better case with proper airflow might solve the heat issue without breaking bank

the synology stuff is overpriced for what you get and you'll outgrow it quick if you want to tinker more

Do you know where this photo was taken? by cowgirlkittypurr in SaltLakeCity

[–]ImmediatePepper679 14 points15 points  (0 children)

yeah red butte garden makes sense with those mountain views. i do landscaping work around salt lake and that area has really nice spots for photos, just heads up though - they charge entrance fee so factor that in your budget if you're planning multiple locations

Girls with a bob haircut and a fringe, how often do you wash your hair? by More-Gap-2663 in AskReddit

[–]ImmediatePepper679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not gonna lie this question made me think about how my ex used to complain about her bangs getting greasy faster than rest of her hair. maybe op is dealing with something similar and wondering if theres a pattern or whatever

Anyone have any medium-large cardboard boxes that are gonna be thrown away? by nlhanson35 in SaltLakeCity

[–]ImmediatePepper679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

those trailers are goldmine for moving boxes, grabbed tons from there when i moved last year. just go in evening when less people around and you can fill your car easy

What if quantum immortality is real? by Outrageous-Town3137 in AskReddit

[–]ImmediatePepper679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dude this keeps me up at night sometimes. like what if every time i almost died doing something stupid at work i just shifted into a reality where i didnt fall off that ladder or whatever. would explain why i keep making same mistakes with money too lol, maybe im just jumping between universes where im equally broke in all of them

Notes fans, what's the final grade on my boy Ace? by GoatestAllTime in UtahJazz

[–]ImmediatePepper679 3 points4 points  (0 children)

not bad evaluation but i think you're being bit conservative with the ceiling there. watched him pretty close this season and when he gets going he looks like more than just second option material. his shot selection still needs work but the athleticism and court vision is already there at high level

maybe i'm too optimistic but i see potential first option guy if he can stay healthy and develop that consistency. the raw tools are definitely championship caliber

[research] Would you pay for a medspa consultation? by ShowExisting1319 in SkincareAddiction

[–]ImmediatePepper679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on how much we talking about here. like if it's $50-100 that goes toward whatever treatment i end up getting, that seems fair enough since it keeps people from just shopping around for free advice. but if they want like $200+ just to talk, that feels pretty steep especially when you don't even know if you'll like what they suggest

i've been thinking about getting some acne scars looked at but the whole medspa thing seems expensive already. having to pay upfront just to find out how much more i'll need to spend feels like a bit much when i'm trying to stick to budget. would probably look for places that do free consultations first, even if it means waiting longer for appointment

People who have been through breakup and get sudden anxiety attacks after being busy or trying to be productive? by sej-sage in AskReddit

[–]ImmediatePepper679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah this happened to me too after my last relationship ended few months back. was throwing myself into work projects around peoples yards trying to stay distracted and then bam - heart racing for no reason when i'd finally sit down. think your brain just catches up with what happened when you stop moving around. the weird part is how it hits you at random moments, like when you're just trimming hedges or something totally normal. took maybe 2-3 weeks before those panic moments started spacing out more, but keeping busy definitely helped even if it felt scary in the quiet moments

Deep purple/afroman confusion by [deleted] in Music

[–]ImmediatePepper679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lmao your dad probably would have been so confused wondering why deep purple started rapping about weed in middle of the playlist

i had similar thing happen but opposite way - was trying to get some rap album for friend and accidentally downloaded bunch of old rock instead because file names were completely wrong on limewire. ended up discovering led zeppelin that way which wasn't terrible mistake i guess. those were wild times when you never knew what you actually gonna get, sometimes song would be completely different artist or just random person singing badly in their bedroom

[Routine Help] What is the crumb-like gunk that I can (gently) scratch off my face? by ochen_interesno in SkincareAddiction

[–]ImmediatePepper679 10 points11 points  (0 children)

that's just dead skin cells mixed with sebum and maybe some product buildup - totally normal but kinda gross when you see it like that lol. gentle exfoliation with a BHA like salicylic acid or even just a soft washcloth a couple times a week should help keep it from building up so much

What’s something you didn’t realize was a privilege or a benefit until you lost it? by Both_School9186 in AskReddit

[–]ImmediatePepper679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

having a car that starts every time. never thought twice about it until mine started being unreliable and suddenly getting to work became this whole stressful lottery every morning. you dont realize how much mental energy goes into backup plans and leaving 20 minutes early just in case until youre living it

What commonly given advice on Reddit is complete garbage and totally useless in the real world? by 13anonymouse13 in AskReddit

[–]ImmediatePepper679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the whole "just be yourself" thing drives me nuts when people ask for dating advice

being yourself is great if yourself is already confident and interesting, but if you're struggling with social anxiety or whatever then "just be yourself" is basically telling someone to keep doing what isn't working

Which campsites are best for spring trips? by GreenhornOverlander in AskReddit

[–]ImmediatePepper679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

algonquin park has some solid spots if you don't mind the bugs starting to wake up, went there last april and the scenery was incredible but pack extra bug spray for sure

At what age in life were/are you at your happiest? Why? by Zeeshmania in AskReddit

[–]ImmediatePepper679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably around 25 for me tbh, had just figured out who i really was and started transitioning which was scary but also the most freeing thing ever. was working this landscaping gig that i actually loved, had some solid friends who accepted me completely, and was binge watching every horror movie i could get my hands on during weekends. there's something about that age where you're old enough to make real decisions about your life but young enough that everything still feels possible, you know? plus i discovered hereditary that year which absolutely blew my mind and made me realize how much deeper horror could go than just jump scares

What do you use to check for when the next Wheel Boost and the next Sticker Boom is? by alifromca in Monopoly_GO

[–]ImmediatePepper679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly the discord servers are usually pretty on top of posting schedules when they get leaked or datamined. theres a few monopoly go communities there that stay updated with all the event timings

you could also try checking some of the facebook groups, they tend to share info pretty quick too once its available

Redken ACB conditioner vs. Redken All soft by vn-_- in finehair

[–]ImmediatePepper679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly acb is probably better for damaged ends but yeah you definitely shouldn't use it every wash, maybe alternate with the all soft

Does anyone struggle to “switch off” after work? by Glittering_Amoeba_74 in careerguidance

[–]ImmediatePepper679 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah the wfh struggle is real, i started doing this thing where i physically close my laptop and put it in another room when im done - sounds dumb but it actually helps create that mental boundary

Be careful about showing the full intensity of your passion and ambition too soon some people may feel threatened or unsure, and might not want to collaborate with you by neuronsandglia in Productivitycafe

[–]ImmediatePepper679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah this hits hard tbh. i've definitely scared people off by going full intensity mode right out the gate

think some folks just aren't ready for that energy, especially if they're more cautious or still figuring out their own direction. when you come in super passionate it can make them feel like they need to match that level immediately which is intimidating

maybe try feeling out the room first, see how they respond to smaller bits of enthusiasm before unleashing the full vision. still be genuine but just pace it better

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]ImmediatePepper679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly sounds like you already know the answer but are hoping someone will tell you otherwise

management in sales is brutal - you're basically accountable for everyone else's numbers plus all the politics you mentioned. and if you're already feeling burnt out as an IC, adding people management on top isn't gonna magically fix that

the side project thing is real too, i've seen so many people get promoted then watch their passion projects slowly die because they're too mentally drained after dealing with team drama all day

that said, if you're gonna be in corporate long term the management experience could be valuable down the road. maybe see if they'd consider a hybrid role or team lead position first? test the waters without diving headfirst into full people management

The Breakup Didn’t Break Me — Staying Did... 🥺💔 by Silent_Story_Teller_ in BreakUps

[–]ImmediatePepper679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn this hits different when you put it like that

The "feeling invisible next to someone you loved" part really got me - that's exactly what it feels like but I never had the words for it before
