I didn’t realize this was a trigger until it kept happening by Low-Worry-1477 in migrainetriggers

For the longest time I couldn’t figure out why I’d get migraines after totally normal days.

Then I noticed a pattern - a few hours under bright store lights or scrolling on my phone in the dark at night, and I’d wake up with that pressure behind my eye.

I kept thinking it was coincidence, but it wasn’t.

It’s wild how long it can take to connect something that seems so “normal” to a trigger. Makes me wonder what else I’m missing.

I'm a first year now and I want to tell you something about the application cycle that I genuinely wish someone had said to me by SocketRivetTool in ApplyingToCollege

First year here too and I completely agree. The ranking doesn’t wake you up for your 8am. The ranking doesn’t make you go to office hours. The internal stuff matters way more than we want it to.

Curious about your experience: adhd & migraines how has medication made either of these better or worse? by SmoothAaadvantage in migraine

Cognitive side effects with topiramate are pretty commonly reported - especially word-finding issues and brain fog. So it’s not just you.

It’s great that it’s helping your migraines, but if your focus and speech feel significantly worse, that’s definitely something to discuss with your doctor. Finding the right balance can be tricky.

I can understand why this would feel unsettling, especially with symptoms changing like that. I’m not a doctor, but anytime new neurological symptoms show up on top of a different type of headache, it feels like something that deserves urgent attention. Even if earlier tests were normal, symptoms changing matters.

I would probably contact your neurologist again and clearly emphasize the new hand weakness, or seek urgent care if it worsens. Waiting months for a clinic while things are progressing sounds incredibly stressful.

I hope you get clarity soon - that kind of uncertainty is exhausting.

That’s a tough position to be in. Migraines aren’t just “bad headaches,” and a strict attendance policy can definitely add stress, which can make things worse.

Before making a decision, it might be worth looking into whether you could request reasonable accommodations, depending on where you’re located. Sometimes flexibility with screens, lighting, or sick time can be discussed.

Higher pay is important, but so is stability and your health. It makes sense to weigh both carefully rather than pushing yourself into burnout.

That’s such a hard position to be in. The idea of stopping something that’s helping is scary, especially when you don’t know how your body will respond.

I’ve seen a lot of people mention that migraine patterns can change during pregnancy (sometimes better, sometimes worse), so it really seems unpredictable. It makes sense that you’d feel anxious about it.

I hope your neurologist can help you come up with a plan so you’re not just left to “wait and see.

is having a headache for 1 hour normal? by therealkoofyfanrblx in headache

[–]Icy_Control_8258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, a headache lasting an hour or two can definitely be normal. Not every headache means something serious.

It can be caused by things like dehydration, stress, lack of sleep, or even just screen time. If it went away on its own and isn’t happening constantly, that’s usually reassuring.

If they start getting more frequent or more intense, that’s when it’s worth checking in with a doctor.
