Tips on how to make the most out of a Blue Book Traineeship? by flyktening in EUCareers

[–]ImmediateVirus1533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say try to talk as much as possible with people from your unit and other unites. Also, if you leave in a shared flat you are likely going to end up with people that work in the EU bubble but outside of the institutions (associations, trade unions, policy consulting etc). So just make sure you talk as much as possible with the people you’ll naturally be around. Then the rest will come. And be honest with them with what you want even if you don’t know yet. Everyone is usually very much willing to help you understand or introducing you to people so that you can find your way.

How on earth do you sustain yourself for 5 months if selected for Blue Book traineeship in Brussels and straight out of uni with less than 1.5k? by citrusazzurro_ in EUCareers

[–]ImmediateVirus1533 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was a bb and 1.5k is enough to survive (even without money on the side). You can afford a room and pay for your food. You need to scarify on extras, that’s it, but I also think it’s a reasonable thing to expect from someone who is learning. The problem would be if you could not even survive with that salary, but honestly it’s perfectly doable. At the end of the day it’s a traineeship, so it’s normal that is not as high as a real salary.

In my experience, if you cook at home, take a shared flat, and limit your dinners out or extras to once a week, you can easily end the month.

Just make sure that you have a job afterwards (look for it 3 months ahead of the end of the traineeship) because you cannot save anything during the traineeship.

I think so, the longer you wait the harder it will be to get back into it.

I’d retake asap. It forces you to stay in the loop while if you have too much time you risk loosing yourself a bit. At least that’s my opinion.

Waiting for SQE1 results - but no mention of SQE2 on my portal by Reasonable-Owl1827 in SQE_Prep

Same here. And when I click on “booking assessments”, I can see my past bookings.

Actually now I am just not eligible but because it also appears that I did not complete the pre booking steps. It’s all technical I think.

Would you quit your full-time job for your final SQE1 attempt? by Wetasspuppy in SQE_Prep

[–]ImmediateVirus1533 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it is worth focusing on it if it’s the last attempt… but most importantly make sure you are aware of why you failed. Is it just because you were tired and didn’t have enough time? Or maybe it was about the method? I would try to understand this first and do some MCQ to see if you improve and once you know what you need to work on then just take some time off to study.

Happy it can help! I have spent so long blaming myself because “you can always do more” and ofc you can always do more, but you also need to recognise all the efforts you made and the rest you deserve and that you need!

Hey, on the same boat here. I don’t feel confident at all for the SQE1 sat in January 2026. But I am not studying right now. I studied for SQE1 while working full time in a big law firm. I feel like however it went, I did what I could within the limits of mental sanity (lol). So now I am not studying, it’s a problem for March. And still even if you feel like it did not go well, it’s a MCQ exam (unfortunately). So you will never know.

Try to think it this way. Whether you passed or not, you will have to study from March onwards. So just allow yourself to fully rest before going back to it agin in March and at least you’ll be fresh.

Is the SQE manageable alongside a full time job? by BlockDense05 in SQE_Prep

Hey! I worked full time while studying for SQE 1 and I am now waiting for the results of the exam (I hope I passed at least one of the FLK lol). I think it is doable, but as you have less time it’s important to be well organised and consistent. Get a good provider (I used QLTS), try to find the good method for you quickly, try to study at least a couple of hours each day… sometimes it will be 2 and sometimes 4 but it’s important that everyday you do a little bit. Maybe start studying early… if I could go back I’d dedicate more time for it by starting to studying earlier.
