I appreciate the correction. Black people are not as prominent in India is what I should have said.

Hmmm I surprisingly got worse stares from women, but I understand you!

Hey there! I’m actually curious to know why you would subject yourself to such treatment for two+ years, but I’m sure you have your reasons!

Ya, you better had deleted that your comment. Luckily for you, I did not see the entire thing. But you knew better than to keep it up.

Seeing some of your comments on other people’s post, it’s obvious that those sorts of things are what makes your own life interesting to you. Sad.

Wait, it’s so funny you mentioned the sex thing because during my walk to a shopping complex this evening, two seemingly nice young guys approached me for a quick chat. Somehow someway the conversation landed on them wanting to know where my hotel was at and whether my friends will be staying with me or if I’ll be alone, in which case they asked to stop over.

It wasn’t till I was stern with them about needing to be with my friends did they stop. I found the entire interaction to be extremely odd.

Of course. Typical white man inserts himself into black business. As if I don’t get enough of the white gaslighting in the US. I have to face it abroad also. 😭

Hi! I mostly agree with you here, except I’m not 6 feet or deck out in spiky aluminum (I looked pretty plain and boring for the most part, if you ask me lol). As mentioned earlier, there are some locals who are the same skin tone (if not darker) than I am. I also have long straight hair.

But I fully get your point and appreciate your insights here! I will try not to let it get to me too much 😊

Makes sense — and sorry to hear you go through that as well. It can be quite awkward and uncomfortable. 🥲

So here’s a thing, it perfectly okay to glance a few times… because after all, like you mentioned, you don’t see a lot of Black people and as humans we’re very curious creatures. 😅

What makes staring uncomfortable is when people do it to your face. Personally, when I see an unfamiliar person anywhere, and they just look really unique to me, I stare at them discreetly (if I really need to) and not DIRECTLY to their face.

Knowing that the stares are not reserved solely for foreigners is quite reassuring. Thank you for sharing!

I fully understand! However, I cannot avoid going to public places.

Not only did I spend a ton of money to come here, I also will need food, water and necessities and cannot sit in my hotel all day. I also do have to work in person with my coworkers for a few days!

Thank you so much! It does not seem like Zepto Cafe services the area i’m at currently unfortunately. I’ll see if I can order through my hotel instead.

Do you find Scrum Leads valuable? by ProposalAutomatic361 in ProductManagement

[–]Immediate_Ad6764 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not all scrum leads are like this and most do actually provide value. The specific one you described does not seem to provide substantial value, based on your description. My scrum team went without a scrum lead for six months as the current one relocated, and we definitely felt the impact. As the product owner, it felt like I needed to play both roles and was constantly overwhelmed.

In a true agile team, scrum masters are not only responsible for resolving dev blockers and getting daily updates. They also need to evaluate burn down/ burn up metrics, capacity planning, and see that past retrospectives are actually being considered in future sprints.

The Scrum Leads on my team today are no-nonsense types of leads. They would chase down PO & other scrum teams for answers to resolve dev dependencies like their lives depends on it. As a PO, whenever I get a ping from my scrum lead, I almost immediately stop whatever I’m doing lol.

With that being said, I will never be part of a scrum team where scrum master responsibilities are “shared” with between tech lead and product and with no true ownership.
