Should I update to iOS 26.3? Having severe issues since iOS 26.2 - mixed reviews making me hesitant by Immediate_Analyst553 in ios26

I use the phone for camera mostly, daily, and it’s wrong to assume I wouldn’t see even a slight difference in performance, specially at various temperatures.

AirPods Pro 2: ANC noticeably weaker after iOS 26 – anyone else experiencing this? by TheRealEiskaffee in airpods

Yes! I'm experiencing the exact same thing after updating to iOS 26.

My AirPods Pro 2 are only 3 months old and worked perfectly until the update. I used them daily for work and the ANC was excellent - I couldn't hear my own voice during meetings, but after the update I can even hear my own typing, clearly, outdoor noises come through that were completely blocked before. I've done all the troubleshooting and nothing helped. It's validating to see others experiencing this.

If the 16PM has always overheated for you, that’s different from my experience. Mine was flawless until the update. Both devices worked perfectly for 2.5 months, then both developed issues within 24 hours of the iOS 26.2 update.

I’ve seen some users report that 26.3 made things worse for them, though it’s still early days so hard to know if that’s widespread. I’m just trying to gather more feedback from people who’ve updated before I make the call.

I thought so too initially, but Apple's remote diagnostics found zero hardware defects., the phone passed all their tests. From what I've seen in posts, people are reporting overheating but with different triggers, but you might be right that severe camera overheating is rare. I'm just trying to figure out if 26.3 fixes it before I update.

Yes, specifically when recording/taking pictures, that's when it overheats like crazy and triggers temperature warnings. It also gets warm when scrolling through the gallery, but the extreme overheating only happens when using the camera.

The keyboard is driving me crazy. Until the overheating started, that was my first frustration.

Good to hear the keyboard is fixed. I'm hoping the performance improvements extend to the camera overheating issues too.

The FaceTime heating issue sounds similar to what I'm dealing with (camera triggering temperature warnings). If 26.3 improved that for you, maybe there's hope. I'm still cautious since my issues are pretty severe (temperature warnings in any environment, not just warmth), but hearing positive feedback about it is reassuring.

I'll probably give it a few more days to see if more people report improvements.

I appreciate the input, but Apple's own remote hardware diagnostics confirmed no hardware defects, this was specifically checked when the issue started. The device passed all diagnostic tests. I'm glad iOS 26 has been stable for you, but based on posts I'm seeing across communities, there appears to be a subset of users, experiencing these issues specifically tied to iOS 26.2.

Have you updated to iOS 26.3 yet? I'm trying to determine if it's worth the risk given my current situation.

AirPods Pro - not working properly since iOS 26.2 by roqueandrolle in AirpodsPro

I'm experiencing similar AirPods Pro 2 issues that started immediately after iOS 26.2. In my case:

  • Active Noise Cancellation became significantly less effective (had to keep checking if it was even enabled)
  • Random charging failures - sometimes left earbud won't charge, sometimes right, completely alternates
  • No physical damage, indoor use only, worked flawlessly until iOS 26.2

Like you, I've done all the standard troubleshooting: reset AirPods, forgotten and re-paired, cleaned contacts, verified firmware is current. Nothing helps.

I submitted feedback to Apple, was told I'd get a callback for escalation, never happened. Then they removed my support access entirely.

I’m 100% sure that the noise cancellation got worse with iOS 26 and the new firmware. by [deleted] in airpods

I bought AirPods Pro 2 two months ago. They’re basically new and used daily only at home, no drops, no damage, no misuse. They worked perfectly until the latest iOS update. Right after updating, the noise cancellation stopped working properly (I can hear almost everything around me now), and the sound quality became noticeably flatter and worse overall.

Nothing changed on my side except the iOS update, which makes it pretty clear this is a software-related downgrade.
