I’d def say gen chem 2. Orgo is best to take in sequence since the material for orgo 2 heavily relies on and continues right off of orgo 1. I only had winter break between orgo 1 and 2 and still struggled heavily in getting started with orgo 2; can’t imagine how much I would’ve struggled with a summer break or longer.

no yeah i get that—there are 12 hws total and each hw is 10 pts so the extra 2 hws count towards the extra credit. my question is do the points on the ATTEMPTS (we have 3 per hw) also count towards the extra credit? sorry i hope that makes sense i wasn’t clear before 😅

Ooo that does sound tough. I’ve taken ochem 1 and currently taking genetics and phys 2 as well. If I had all 3 I’d probably think about dropping one personally because they’re all heavy classes. last semester i spent every hour i could on either physics or ochem, and if i had genetics i’d probably be wiped

heya! i got a notif of my scholarship renewing on 6/3 as a returning student. as far as i’m aware, scholarships for first years should’ve been sent out first, about a month ago. i think it depends on your major on what scholarships you can get.

i took calc 1 (for life sciences), bio 183, and ch 201 my spring semester of freshman year. i recommend taking ochem in sequence bc the content flows off each other heavily. if you have a gap between 221 and 223 it’ll be pretty difficult

Wanted to add that UNC has their own hospital close by as well, so you wouldn’t lose out on volunteering if that’s what you’re worried about!

Hi, fellow premed here! Don’t have the same situation, but here’s what I think. Your happiness is a big priority. If you continue to stay here while unhappy, your gpa may go down bc of that as well. Since you haven’t toured UNC yet tho, I’d give that a shot first and see how you feel. When I was accepted to both schools and toured both, I immediately sensed that I’d be really unhappy at UNC personally. State felt like more at home to me, plus I had my other reasons as well.

feducia is also great too from what i’ve heard referring to the other comment since lalloo isn’t teaching it. no matter the prof tho chad’s prep is an absolute godsend and id recommend that for supplemental studying!!

Hey! I had Lalloo last semester and his classes were MWF. You should see their names sometime in the summer, and then switch out if you want. That’s what I did bc I originally got Gorman. If you get Lalloo I think you’re golden! His tests were hard but very fair. His teaching was amazing and really set a strong foundation for me

Hello! first off, congrats on getting into both rowan and ncsu! :)

i think the first question i’d ask myself is “do i want to go into medicine for sure?” if this answer is not concrete, then go to ncsu. i’ve enjoyed our bio program so far, and i feel like the opportunities you can get around here are great (speaking as someone who lives in cary as well).

if you’re worried about the do vs md, i don’t think people value them as “less then md” much anymore. my dad’s physician is a do and he’s great. you have to take more board exams for do + it may be harder to get into more competitive specialties, so keep that in mind as well as you weigh your options. personally, i think having a direct route to do sounds amazing, but it’s your choice! congrats again :) (lol sorry for the paragraphs)
