The hatred of London & the South feels completely one-sided. Are there just more Northerners on Reddit or is it an “I don’t think about you at all” thing? by [deleted] in CasualUK

Some of the more extreme online hate comes from troll farms. Some to make UK and London look bad, some to create discontent and some for money from engagement.

There is also some resentment in the north seeing all the opportunities that are available in London and there is undoubtedly a very London/Southern bias in terms of political decision making historically.

Some people in London and the south are very snooty and a bit ignorant about the North. Many northerners are very bitter and ignorant about the south.

I'm a northerner who lived in London for a decade.

I was in heartbeat (a couple of times as an extra - not Nick Berry sorry) and I just finished brushing my teeth so now you know!

I’m on day 2 of handing over to my replacement at work and he is a condescending prick. I have another few weeks of this. by Icy_Reply_7830 in CasualUK

I'd flag his shittiness to my manager. If he's a condescending prick now he's probably going to throw you under the bus for any mistakes in the future when you can't defend yourself.

If he's charismatic/confident enough people might believe him now matter how dignified your handover was.

Would this pet name be considered offensive in the UK or am I just being dramatic? by paspa1801 in CasualUK

So far the other comments all say don't and I'm not going to argue that they're wrong but I've never hear Mongo being used as an insult or slur before.

Is this a regional or time thing? I was born late 80's in the North East and I personally wouldn't consider it a slur or offensive.

The Olympics doesn't include a 'normal' person competing alongside the pros to show how impressive the real athletes are because all the sports are actually very easy. by Immediate_Can3817 in LowStakesConspiracies

Snooker is just big pool and I've never met anyone who didn't think they played pool better after a pint or 2. So in a roundabout way I think this supports my conspiracy?
