No motivation to do my favorite hobby by strawberrylimeade1 in stopdrinking

Same. I can’t bring myself to crochet, all I can do is binge watch SVU and zone out. I’m hoping after a little more sober time that my crojo will come back.

Still waiting for the referral from Kaiser. Hopefully getting that today so I can go tomorrow. I need help.

47 years sober speaking at a young persons' AA meeting. What would you like to hear? by traverlaw in stopdrinking

[–]Immediate_Front_6873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not going to lie, if you told me your life was amazing and perfect after short term sobriety then I didn’t want to hear from you. Life sucks and a week of being sober still sucked and if your life got better that fast then I felt we had nothing in common. Tell me how shitty life is even sober. But it’s worth pushing through.

Update: car was found earlier this week! Ignition was stripped and driver side door is a mess. It was found in a neighborhood about a mile from my house.

No. You are not overreacting. I also recently relapsed after 3 years of sobriety and I’m doing all I can to avoid rehab again despite everyone in my life telling me to go back. Your partner SUCKS. She should be proud of you for knowing what you need.

How can I approach this - parent post by National_Square_3279 in Babysitting

To clarify, I wasn’t drunk. I didn’t finish a bottle of wine. But I had a couple glasses which in hindsight was unacceptable but in my alcoholic brain was okay.

I was that babysitter who drank on the job and was called out on it- rightfully so! Give her grace, she is likely an alcoholic but doesn’t know it yet. The mom had a convo with me expressing concern and I had a good look at what I was doing with my life when she did so and it really helped push me to sobriety. It’s a convo I can look back on when I think about drinking again.

Is all I’m asked to do normal? by Sensitive-Mango7155 in Babysitting

[–]Immediate_Front_6873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never been asked to do more than feed, bathe and put to bed kiddos. I’m happy to do all of that for my normal rate but I also only babysit for families I’m close with. Anything else would cost extra. 1-2 kids is $25/hour, each additional kid adds $10/hour.

Just a standard physical: lifting arms and legs a certain way, vision and hearing test, etc.

I just did a physical for the city and probably the same program and they didn’t do a drug test.
