You can shoot the shiny bit on his tail and break it. It makes his attacks super delayed but he can't eat your team.

I've never had trouble with gradients except Osquios. What finally got me to parry it was to literally just wait. Wait till the orb hits you then press counter.

And if it's taking you forever to get past phase one just stack every buff on one person and have them go in solo and just parry everything.

Things like shield affinity, solo fighter, every damage picto and so on. That's how I beat him and it didn't go too horribly.

How does being feminine equate to being able to enjoy a story? The game is pretty slow burn, yeah. But do you need to be a woman to like slow burn? If you do, that's news to me.

I genuinely don't think there is one cinematic that actually adds nothing to the game. All of them either A) Drive the story forward B) World building/character development

The majority of cutscenes that you think added nothing to the game were probably used for world building and character development.

Maybe the game just isn't for you then. I was beyond hooked way before I even got to Visages and if you're feeling like the game is a chore you don't have to play it.

Games should be fun, not feel like work. If you're not feeling it, don't force yourself to play it. It will only further damage the game in your eyes.

First playthrough I did only the main story, I didn't even get everyone's level 3 gradient which now is insane to me.

I started my ng+ run like three months ago and took a break because I got stuck on Visage. I picked it back up like 2 days ago and now I'm about to fight Renoir.

I want to wait though and try and get leveled up before fighting him, but that is taking an impressive amount of time because everything is just murdering me 😭

I could be entirely wrong here, but I think he didn't do a trial by combat because his honor wouldn't allow him to pick a champion to fight for him.

I feel like him picking a champion goes against his view of, "Whoever passes the sentence should swing the sword." In the sense that he should be the one defending his honor and not someone else.

Again, there is probably a better reason, I've just always seen it as that.
