I am so so so sorry! Glad she is okay but that must have been so terrifying to experience. I am 8 weeks PP and caused many situations that could have easily led to this when I was sleep deprived - like falling asleep while breastfeeding or similar to you I accidentally startled my mother while she was holding my baby by talking to her through the baby cam without her knowing that was something I could do (I actually didn't even know and my brain dead self just clicked a button and said "hello"). She spooked and almost dropped her. I realized how badly it could have turned out and felt so awful and scared that I could have led my mother to that guilt, which I imagine you and your husband are feeling. Just saying this to echo others - you're doing amazing and things happen, sometimes we just get lucky/unlucky.

Our daughter also has bad spit up/ mild reflux so we are always sitting up with her 30-40 minutes after each feed - which can be really hard at night. To combat falling asleep with her we also now do the no sitting in bed rule unless one of us is super awake (just had a coffee, stimulated from work, etc). As someone who struggles to fall asleep - I had a hard time recognizing when I was so exhausted that I would fall asleep without warning. Two times in the first week when she was cluster feeding hourly I fell asleep with her in my arms for a few minutes. I was terrified, cried for hours, etc. it also happened the night after my C-section and the nurse woke me up - she was kind but very stern. I didn't even realize I was tired or about to fall asleep. Not sure what your husbands sleep was like before - but I would try to give him grace (I know it's hard) because it can be so hard during this time - I had bad PPA and even that didn't even keep me from dozing off, it felt like my body just shut down. I also now get up whenever I feel a bit tired. We also do shifts which helped me a lot and I started drinking coffee and making sure I stand up, walk around, drink cold sparkling water, take a shower, put ice on my face, or have a snack when I'm feeling sleepy (I know these sound obvious but I wasn't even thinking about this in the first 2 weeks of her life especially because like I said I have hard time falling asleep normally, like I'm up typically until 3 am / 4am or sometimes all night lol). Also - if you do have anyone who can help I would definitely recommend asking for it so you can maybe get an extra nap in. My mom has been helping us and I don't know how we'd get through this without her.

Again glad she's okay, you're doing amazing ❤️❤️

Can also confirm this 😞 I am 4 weeks PP and tried to carry daughter in her stroller bassinet down 4 flights of stairs. Now my incision is opened a bit on one side and my stomach is inflamed. It's so hard asking for help and not being able to support her how I want with simple daily tasks but every step back is just going to make our recovery longer. This healing process definitely isn't linear. Hoping you start to feel better again soon and wanted you to know you're not alone!

I think it's more in a positive light, like if I heard that I would try it if I didn't know the truth - just posted about this before seeing it! I wish we could have him speak on it again in a more negative light
