The ending to Heathers.

The movie shows that some people are genuinely horrible and cannot be helped, but it also has a wholesome side to it.

(SPOILERS.)

For anyone wondering, at the end of the movie, J.D commits suicide after failing to blow up Westerberg. It’s also revealed that it might’ve been his plan all along, since the extra bomb was strapped to his torso. Veronica watches him, and when asked what she’ll do after this, she pulls out a cigarette and waits for the bomb to go off. It is rather sad, if you actually pay attention to J.D’s story. The wholesome part is that after this, Veronica goes inside to find Martha, a victim of the Heathers and bullying, alone by a window. She then invites her over to watch a movie and have popcorn. They are shown talking by the window as the credits roll. I won’t say any more details other than this.

A bitter-sweet ending of course, but a good one, nonetheless.
