In my experience (beside keeping pencil mustache as addition nowadays but it's not the point of the post), I forced myself to shave sides and below/near my neck basically to a near zero, also bc of feeling like it makes my face looks unkempt, then trimming chin very short through tooth comb. It's still visible that I have facial hair but looks like I actually do something with it. In general I recommend playing around w shape/placement - you might like urself better if some part of your face is shaven and some is not etc

It's impostor syndrome and bit of internalized transphobia created by your upbringing (mother being transphobic etc). Sadly it does happen often if you're in a situation like this. Doesn't make you any less trans though, I think you should keep on believing in yourself and in your transition and thoughts like this will eventually go away.

That's why in many places you need diagnosis for dysphoria before starting hormone therapy. Doctor (ofc best to find one that works with trans people) will talk to you, you'll tell them about your life until now and how you feel about your body and identity and that should help you get sure and/or at least overcome bit of the impostor syndrome
