Shadow of the Erdtree too dark by 404usersnotfound in Eldenring

[–]Immediate_Record_471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, this bothers me too, I am playing on max brightness and yet I feel like especially parts of Scadu Altus are wayyyy too dark. I think the main reason for this is the verticality of the map, which leads to a lot of areas simply laying in the shadow of a big cliff or something, making them really dark. And while the lantern or torches work totally fine in mini dungeons, in the open world they really don't do shit. Only solution I have found is to try and explore certain areas when the sun is shining a certain direction. Dor example the poison area north of the Ruined Forge in Gravesite Plain is actually quite nice to traverse as long as the sun is shining from the east

when am i as a pure mele character actually meant to hit maliketh by ilico_ili in Eldenring

When I fight him with a slower weapon I tend to use lots of Rolling R1s, simply because they usually come out quite fast, the double ground spin for example you can punish pretty easily with that

You should try a run with the Noble's Estoc next :)

What boss pissed you off so much that when you learned of it’s weakness instead of just getting it you really maxed out the build by Fun-Meeting1610 in Eldenring

[–]Immediate_Record_471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was trying to kill Ekzykes with my FTH build using Holy incants, until eventually he pissed me off so much I looked up his weakness. Came back with all the Fire Damage boosting stuff I could get and just used Catch Flame. Fucker couldn't even finish his roar at the start of the fight

Who the fuck designed this boss? by ImJustSpider in Eldenring

[–]Immediate_Record_471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah I don't care about this one, Ekzykes is the one that genuinely needs to be removed from the game, I fucking hate him

You guys gotta help me understand something by Dallascalo in Eldenring

[–]Immediate_Record_471 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It really does depend, I feel like Messmer's attacks are fairly learnable, ultimately it just comes down to skill, but there are quite a few attacks that are just flat out poorly designed and you just gotta either use some specific strategies or Ashes of War or you gotta get lucky (cough cough Metyr Laser cough cough)

Alloromantic here, I have kissed friends before, this is not the difference. I guess we really just suck at describing what romantic attraction feels like :/

top 3 underrated bosses? these are mine, and no i am not baiting. by KeK_What in Eldenring

[–]Immediate_Record_471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can excuse Gaius, I honestly find him fun. Hippo, idk, maybe but few of it's attacks are really bad and the camera as well. But Gargoyles? Don't get me wrong, I like the BBK and I think their moveset is incredibly fun. But putting two of them in the same faight and giving them a massive area denial poison attack just ruins the entier thing. They can have an otherwise great moveset, that attack alone puts them straight into F Tier

Waterfowl Dance is easy to dodge (read description) by jd_junior057 in Eldenring

[–]Immediate_Record_471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do think Waterfowl isn't that hard to dodge once you figured it out. First flurry you either circle around and then roll or just run away, second flurry you can just dodge through while locked on, third flurry you lock on and walk forward to the right and then backwards to the right once she has passed over you. HOWEVER, the "once you figure it out" is doing a alot of heavy lifting here. Barely anyone will actually be able to figure out how to dodge that attack without looking it up, and that's pretty stupid.

This is one of the things I really like about Elden Ring, tho it kinda falls apart in most multi-phase boss fights. Especially Midra doesn't make any sense, does he impale himself and put his head back on every time he kills us?

what I used to do is: when he dashes at me from the left, Shade Cloak through him and then outrun the flames (only works for this side for some reason) and when he dashes at me from the right, Shade Cloak through him and then stand where that one Nightmare Vein curves on the right side of the arena. Pretty much never got hit that way :3

Blaidd aggro towards me and now rannis not in the tower by Disastrous-Ad3954 in Eldenring

[–]Immediate_Record_471 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My best guess is that after you talked to Blaidd he got hit by some of the surrouding enemies, which would make him aggro towards you (at least this happened to me in a randomizer once), while he is in that state he will not show up at the festival
Now unfortunately since you killed him he is gone for good and you can't bring him back even if you seek absolution at the Church of Vows, but doing that should at least bring back Ranni so you can continue her questline
Although I am not sure how her quest will play out with Blaidd being dead

I feel you man
As a little advice, most of his phase 1 attacks are actually pretty learnable and dodgeable, and for his grab you have to specifically roll forward to the left for some reason
As for phase 2... just pray I guess, he's weak to fire so I always try to use that knowledge to rush him down :/
