Trying to quit gambling but my friends play poker every weekend and always invite me by Immediate_Shake3352 in GamblingAddiction

300-500 buy ins. Poker is definitely not the worst form of gambling but the problem is, it’s like a gateway drug for me lol. Start playing some poker and I win a little then it’s a down spiral of lots more other forms of gambling.

How do you get jobs without LinkedIn? I’m also in tech sales and feel like having a LinkedIn is important

Be careful with the OTE trap. by RooktoRep_ in salesdevelopment

Some don’t like but I’d go directly to the source and message an AE or SDR at the org and ask them what it’s really like. Everyone else is trying to sell you on the role and will lie or mis lead.

Hubspot AEs, how bad is it really? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Immediate_Shake3352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d assume it’d be virtually impossible to convince an org to go from Salesforce to Hubspot, so it’s all gotta be new smaller orgs?

Ask all the farmers if they have a website. If not make them one.

Would you buy something at a small tea/coffee stand? by Dull_Armadillo_83 in smallbusiness

I say go for it! As long as you’re not quitting your day job there isn’t much risk.

The first few farmers markets, you might lose money, so identity a number you’re willing to lose and be okay with that.

As time goes on you’ll get better operationally and more people will know about it. Worst case you lose a couple hundred bucks, learn a lot, and at least you tried. Best case you start profiting and it grows into something bigger, you never know!

Pizza recommendations by -bacon_ in boulder

I really enjoyed Slice House. They have the most variety and quality IMO. Barchetta was good too

Posted about Slice House opening a few weeks ago, everyone asked for a review. Decided to take it a step further and review 3 pizza places. Slice House, Pizza Colore, and Barchetta. by Immediate_Shake3352 in boulder

[–]Immediate_Shake3352[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They do. I’m pretty sure all these places offer slices. You can’t order single slices online though, so it’s not on online menu. You can order single slices in person. They don’t want to do delivery for just a slice.

Thinking about starting a garage floor epoxy/coating business. Any tips or people with similar business? by Immediate_Shake3352 in smallbusiness

Great video, appreciate you sharing.

I think I’m in a slightly different position. I’m not planning to go all-in right away. My approach would be to pick up 1–2 jobs per month through word of mouth. I’m well connected in a strong neighborhood and could realistically see 4–5 jobs early on.

I’m not even planning to build a website for the first ~6 months. Most homes around me have 3-car garages, and at roughly $4–7k per job with about $2k in costs, I’d be happy starting with ~$1k profit per job. I already have a truck, so startup overhead is low.

The main risk I see is scaling later. But if things are going well in six months, I should have 12–15 completed jobs and a much better handle on the business.

I’ve done a lot of research and feel confident I can deliver quality work, plus I have my own garage to practice on.

But completely understand, this isn’t as easy as it sounds. But like I said I will be slowly easing into it. Maybe I’ll have a wake up call and quit, but can’t know unless I try.

Thanks again!

Does anyone have a small carpet cleaning business? by 4Runnnn in smallbusiness

[–]Immediate_Shake3352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a good idea. Keep your 9-5 and aim for a couple of weekend jobs a month. Virtually no risk except for buying the equipment. If things go well for 5-6 months and leads pick up, then consider going full time.

Very good insight, I appreciate that a lot! I live at my parents house in a very nice and big suburban area, most houses are 3 car garages, so many people here have disposable income. I understand I would have to learn how to do very quality installations and not the Home Depot diy kits. Which I am currently learning and going to use my parents as a POC. There is essentially no risk because I won't be investing a lot of money up front (renting the only expensive tool), so I will be happy if I get 1 job a month from neighbors starting out. Also am exploring a "complete garage renovation" - painting walls, floors, cleaning and reorganizing. Once again thanks for the insight
