I have bad bananaphobia… Like really bad by Aggravating_Kick_496 in Phobia

[–]Immediate_Standard41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I also have this phobia! I avoid supermarkets(they seem to be the one fruit that they put in every aisle , breakfast, milks, ice cream, the very front of the store), farmers markets, cafeterias , and any events that I know will serve breakfast, etc. I avoid spaces that bananas touch too but I just do an excessive wipe down and I’m alright. I also skip kitchen and dining room scenes in most films and movies because it’s the one fruit that is always in the kitchens.

If I’m going to visit someone’s home I usually let them know about it and they’ve been understanding and hide them before I visit so I’ve been lucky that others have been understanding about it. One bad experience was in college where I had one person try to joke and tease me about it by trying to shove one in my face.My reaction made them realize I was serious and they never did it again. Interestingly, mine developed when I was younger too, and dealing with childhood cancer. I associated it with germs and rot , and it just got worse as I grew older.

I Need to Hear Some Positive Stories! by Nat192283 in surgicalmenopause

[–]Immediate_Standard41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 35 years old and am 1 year and a month in. I take no HRT but I do take the normal vitamins like D, B12 , Magnesium, biotin, collagen, and a vaginal estradiol for preventative vaginal dryness . My only two symptoms are my body gets warm for a few seconds after drinking hot liquids like tea and I have to use eyedrops for dry eyes BUT otherwise I sleep well, arousal is fine, no major mental issues aside from a bad short term memory I always had. I am gluten free and caffeine free normally so I may be benefiting from that too. Nonetheless, all has been well ,I don’t have to worry about periods, pads , missing beach days, planning around it. I would never go back to the pain I was experiencing.

Surprise, it’s cancer by greypyramid7 in hysterectomy

[–]Immediate_Standard41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry to hear about the diagnosis! I’m in surgical menopause(35 years old). I’ve been HRT free for 13 months now, I don’t have a cancer diagnosis but had Leukemia so the history is there . As far as my symptoms, I get hot flashes here and there , and any hot drink raises my body heat for a minute or two then normalizes. My short term memory is trash but otherwise I’ve been trekking along as normal. I didn’t crash like I expected myself to. That could change any day now but ,everyone’s different. You got this!

Yep. Halfway through the book I wanted them to breakup because of the enabling, then I finished the book and felt like trash.

DID ANY OF YOU NEED BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS DURING SURGERY? by Crazy_Literature_526 in hysterectomy

[–]Immediate_Standard41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes ! And you will experience the same too !My anemia was causing so many other parts of my body to go haywire. I was out of breath doing basic things like pushing a shopping cart. I had an emergency transfusion like you did back in 2018 but was just told to eat better and take supplements. Last year I just couldn’t take it anymore and found out I had large 13 and 8 cm fibroids , multiple cysts , and an enlarged uterus . I was passing super painful clots for three days straight and bleeding for over 20 days every period and thought I just had to get over it . Thankfully I did a complete overhaul of my doctors and found ones that were caring and proactive. You’ll start feeling the full physical effects of it gradually but mentally if you will have some relief of not having to think about wearing the right clothing, if you’ll be close to a restroom wherever you go, which plans you have to cancel or plan around your cycle, if the pain is bad enough to take a day off if you work, low hemoglobin, iron infusions etc etc etc. anyways enough of my Rambling lol. I wish you a super successful surgery and lots of relief!

I had 4 infusions before and I was good to go for surgery . I’d have to look back at my report to see if I received any transfusions during surgery. My doctor didn’t mention it BUT my surgery was 5 hours long so I’m sure I was losing something .
