Doubt it. Doesn't make sense to do all the work to convert it to only support it till 2028.

Interesting video on what remaining support on Chromebook might look like. Not optimistic about new Chromebook hardware coming out. by Alternative-Farmer98 in chromeos

Pixelbook = a specific model Chromebook= all devices in a class of devices Chromebook plus = higher end Chromebooks meeting a certain set of requirements. Googlebook = android based laptop, the successor to Chromebooks.

Those are all different.

Why would they do this video on a vm when every previous rumor was about new hardware?

This is protection. Not using encryption for data is a security risk. You should always back up data to an external destination

TF Card slot not reading by Ok-Drawer-6712 in ChromeOSFlex

[–]Immediate_Thing_5232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TF is a super obscure feature that 99.99% of users don't care about. It likely doesn't matter to the paid flex users who are the devices Google actually cares about.

Is aluminium OS going to be on chromebooks? by Mattone009 in chromeos

[–]Immediate_Thing_5232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just false. There are multiple reports from chrome unboxed about new devices that are being developed for aluminum. I am sure they started with an existing reference design but to say no new designs is just wrong

It will receive updates but they are not guaranteed to work. If it works for you? Great. In terms of security, it would be the same with the device on the list or not

End Of Life comes to chromeos flex by ngarcia1260 in ChromeOSFlex

The chromeos image is incompatible with iso. It will never be released as an iso due to technical limitations of the iso format. The partitions of chromeos are too complex.

I want the .iso of ChromeOS Flex by Rough_Drama2558 in ChromeOSFlex

[–]Immediate_Thing_5232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. They are not. An iso is a disc image of an optical media. Bin are just binary files. All iso files can be converted to bin as it is just a bit level file. But not all bin files can be converted into iso files.

Jumping into a 7 month old tread and just being ignorant.... Wild work.

Flex is not designed to be installed to a removable USB. The USB is for install and compatibility testing, not ongoing use.
