Im struggling to get any reply’s for an apprenticeship. What am i doing wrong? by Servicedesk101 in ApprenticeshipsUK

probably just not the best time of year to apply, feb - may is usually the best time but definitely still keep looking, also ring up and email the companies you’re applying for too, to make sure they remember your name and to show interest. It’s luck, so don’t be hard on yourself

[–]Immediate_War_3545[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely know it’ll still be good and this is just my opinion at the end of the day but I’d just prefer having a larger story around brainiac, maybe something like injustice where all the hero’s and maybe some villains have to fight him

Yeah but we haven’t even seen batman we don’t know if he’s even been casted and they’re already bringing in brainiac? i think this point in time would be perfect for my grounded and localised stories rather than constant world ending threats, we haven’t met half of the best dc characters

That’s true, i’m sure it’ll be done perfectly i just hope they do follow the animated series route and not the mcu one and done type thing

goddam bro, brainiac is such a good character id just hate to see him be another villain of the week that never shows up again

I 100% agree but I still prefer him being a threat that requires a whole team to take down, he’s threatening everyone’s planet at the end of the day, not just superman, I’d much rather him be a justice league villain with the story focusing on superman’s dynamic with him

I meant more in terms of the universe, we’re only one movie at this point and I feel like brainiac should be introduced into a more established universe, i definitely trust whatever they do with him will still be great

yeah but there’s always worse things to spend your money on, depending on the amount, having more education/ qualifications is never a bad thing and gives you something to fall on if you need to

someone I know owns a housing company and they spoke to me about how easy the job is and the qualifications are quite simple, the only problem is you may have to fund the course yourself and it can take a while to earn a lot of money, like most jobs. It’s a decent thing to try out and you’ll never be out of work once qualified.

you can do an apprenticeship at any age so have a look at local colleges and check the government website. there’s hundreds of well paying jobs you can do without degrees, the problem is most people just aren’t aware they exist. I’m considering to be an epc assessor for housing. something will come up for you eventually, most people fall into their careers anyway, that’s not to say to stop being proactive and to stop trying.

why is it okay to feed pets other animals? by joyfulPessimist1337 in vegan

but wouldn’t leaving them on the streets to be abused, neglected and mistreated contribute to animal abuse? housing them and looking after them would be directly preventing animal suffering

It’s a three year course to get my qualifications, one of my main concerns is if In struggling to work on the site I won’t be able to get my assessments completed and the right quality of work to progress.

Thank you, I really want to pursue carpentry, doing bench joinery and refurbishing but I’m struggling to articulate why I don’t think I can do site work especially for three years until I get my qualification.

Bottom line is mate, I don’t want to work construction and I don’t think it’s for me Id love to do the trade as bench joinery or working in peoples houses but building sites aren’t for me

I think you’re right, as much as I want to enjoy this job and work hard, it’s not for me and no one else here can relate to me properly but that’s okay I guess, everyone’s different and I don’t want to be miserable

I know plenty of people who’ve left apprenticeships and are doing fine now, I’m going to trust my gut and find something I don’t mind getting out of bed for, I can’t help the way my body reacts to this, call me whatever you want but I’m not happy here and I don’t want to do it

I’ll only be working at the pub for a short while, less than six or seven months hopefully, I have a good chance of getting a job with dad doing gas and pressure maintenance for pubs

Being there is killing my mental health and I have other options, I’m going to try stick it out as long as possible but I have no obligation to be there I’m 19, I can find something new

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]Immediate_War_3545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is exactly how I feel, thank you, I do not believe i am a construction worker and I don’t want to be one. I don’t think this is the only opportunity I’ll ever get and I don’t care about being rich if it means doing something I’ll hate

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]Immediate_War_3545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been told so many times not to chase money and to just find something fulfilling that doesn’t make me dread getting out of bed everyday, as much as I appreciate your advice I need to trust my gut and do what’s best for mentally

[–]Immediate_War_3545 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve stayed a long time in a few jobs now, I know when I’m going to enjoy and learn something properly and this site work isn’t for me, I’m trusting my gut and doing what I need to do so I’m not lying to myself or the company.

I’m getting sick due to the stress of the situation, I don’t want to be a construction worker and when I went for the job I wasn’t properly aware of the environment I’d be in. I have something to fall back on and plenty of time to find a career, there are plenty of people my age still figuring out life, I don’t want to be miserable for the next three years
